Post Mark - SO7 and League
Hi Mark

Just want to remind you about the issues we have in the league at the moment with ttf and turning G1 races into selling races etc.
Will there be any work done towards finding a solution?

Doug

Glad someone else bought this up so it does not become a one man crusade here are a few ideas I have if they will help or not
only Mark can decide.

Firstly we do not want to effect anyone's enjoyment of the game when they are not involved in the league e,g moving horses form
game to game creating their own schedules.

I think there should be a League players mode

1) only in this mode can horses be exported for league participation
2) remove the ttf system in this mode or make it that a horse can only ever be moved once
3) remove the option for outside customized schedules with claiming and selling races in this mode or (Below)
4) Place a buy it now button on every game horse (Allowing you to buy any horse without having to manipulate schedules
then at least everyone is in the same boat and no one has an unfair advantage.

IMO I would not mind getting rid of the ttf system in league mode play and block the chance of manipulating schedules
basically if you play outside league mode you can not export horses to the league then every league player is playing under
the very same rules and this would not damage the non league players experience.

I have not posted this to start up another disagreement or argument but to put some ideas forward for a solution to a very big
problem.

The above are my own opinions and ideas if you have any other ideas shout now we need to help Mark as much as possible
I know the league is not critical for the game but i think its a hugely important part of it.

I made a similar suggestion about the ttf but it does not appear to be viable.

Interesting read so looks like its a no win situation with the TTFs but at least
any horses who comes from a selling schedule wont be allowed in the league

Now that I'm back on the forums again after a few days away looks like y'all are trying to get me out of a job haha! I wouldn't want to see custom schedules done away with for league reasons. I'd say the easiest fix is to program it so that sales are country specific - so if you made a selling race for Japan, any horses that are entered can end up being bought by CPU trainers in that country only. Then, you can keep the realism of selling races in other countries get players can never buy a horse from a country that isn't their home.

I don't ever want to see the league evolve into a spot where those who choose to mod their game are banned or heavily disadvantaged. The league is meant for all players to join and come in, no matter the schedule they use, the country they are in, or the way they play. It should reward those who spend a lot for time breeding the best and put effort into their game, but never make people who choose the play the game a certain way in a spot where they could he ostracized. (It goes without out saying that blatant cheating that is against the specific written rules at the time of racing should not be tolerated).

Some time ago a fix was done to stop feature races appearing as sellers or claimers. If you change the feature race type to one of the above it should appear as a listed race.

Does this no longer work?

It seems not Mark as a current League trainer has been using a schedule where all the feature races are claimers or sellers so
basically he can get any game horse he wants.

Maybe Vinny can shed light on what version of the game he is using

He also stated that overseas horses are turning up in his Auctions when they win one of his feature races
which are claiming or selling races which i also thought was impossible.
