They may only be ready in the initial upload week, there won't be a massive overhaul so don't worry too much.

 Re: New League Season
anubisrich wrote: This is the thread for all league announcements up to the season start date of October 16th, I also wanted to put, all in one place, the new rules for this season. There will also be some schedule tweaking (less 2m races in NHC, some more extreme distances too, more maidens in the initial weeks and some handicap changes).
1) The upload window is scrapped. You can upload/transfer/retire horses whenever you like. 2) Initial stable size is only 15 though. This will be increased to 20 in week 6 and 25 in week 12. 3) In order to enter handicap races your horse must have raced 3 times and not be deemed to have garnered an artificially low mark. 4) Group 1 races will have a maximum field size of 20. This may be extended to Group 2 and 3 races in the future. Entries are dependent on rating. First time runners are ineligible. 5) Rewards will apply to certain feats of excellence, for example winning the King George and Gold Cup, or the English and Irish Derby/Guineas (with the same horse = extra stable slot (permanently), with different horses = £1,000,000)
More to follow.
I love the whole 5 rules, they all will work well for my style of play, thank you rich in my estimation the 5 rules are well balanced,
Rich, well done lad, I like what you did, it's a yes from me.
PS. This post has been edited as when it was written I did'nt read the other posts, so no questions from me.

I know this wasn't intended as a discussion thread, but it all sounds good.
I like Rule 1 because people shouldn't complain that they play until the league starts and are then disadvantaged by people uploading horses mid season. I think the best horses should be able to run, and credit to the people who continue to play through the season to find better horses.

Sounds great Rich, could you confirm that the 2000, Derby etc will not be open to geldings?

Good too see a date set, looking forward to it Rich
Scotty, one man alone could never take up the mantle of New Approach.
Dunno about the uploading whenever rule, word on the virtual street is that Luke Wilson is already into season 3035 in his game and could be uploading new super freaks everyday.

Are transfers unlimited Rich? If you can have 20 uploads per league i only play one league so could transfer out 40 horses. Gives me the chance of uploading 60 to find some good ones in the league i play! this could be a bit unfair needs a cap or No transfers, apologies if you have already addressed this!
Its Good to see a date set, looking forward to it!

i hope they arent hackett, and i imagine they will be limited as are retirements.
my money wont be on luke wilson to win the league, not by a long way. i think kenny has a much better chance, but lets see what the prices are if someone does do some odds.
its great a date has been set, time to start trialling a ridiculous pile up of nhc possibilities!!
i would like to know if mike is going to be returning as bookie??

Sorry, I thought this was already decided last season. If not then this is absolutely correct.
Geldings are allowed in the league, even if it is shown they have offspring also in the league because there is no noticeable performance benefit but they are excluded from races that their real life counterparts are excluded from as well.
Transfers and retirements will be limited. I haven't decided on an amount yet. It may be 6 for the season via retirement, and 2 transfers. Can't see how you'd need more than 2 transfers and I don't want the USRA to be a graveyard.
Ryan, if you're keen then I am too, all races run on good ground or better It's global warming after all!
New Approach, uploading whenever is no different really than uploading every 4 weeks. It just means if you unearth a super horse you can show him off immediately. But, you've got to balance that with the smaller stable size. It should be much more open.

Cool, cool, just one more thing from me Rich, will all horses in stables in TOM be cleared automatically before the new upload window or do we have to delete them.

hahah yeh rich good ground or better. im at the point in my game where evry single horse i breed has a preference for firmer ground. trialling my horses on softish ground to heavy throws up the most inconsistent results. so if there are weeks with bottomless ground i will do well to get a top 10!!!
i vote good to firm every week hehe

Might have one or two handicappers - 0-80 class, but nothing major.
Uploaded three last season and they all managed to win small handicaps.
What you looking to upload?
