 Re: The League Poll (1)b
Id be interested in joining the league but most of my horses are moderate and the horses of mine that are classy are on games of mine that won't load up. if you need more numbers ill play but i will be tackling the low grade handicaps at Wolverhampton rather then the G1 races... id

 Re: The League Poll (1)
gonna play both. got a couple of horses that manage to get into the 1m 4f ck trialling times, havent got a sprinter that can break 59 secs though, so a bit of a mixed bag.

 Re: The League Poll (1)
It really doesn't matter how good or bad your horses are. I've played two seasons and enjoyed both so much. First season I did well for a rookie, but had put a LOT of time in and then even more time for the second season where I had improved a lot but was still short of the top. Though I did win some weakish G1's.
For SO5 I've hardly played it tbh. I've been in Vietnam/Cambodia since June 25 and dont get back till Sep 19th. I am playing a bit more now, an hour or two or day, but I'll be average at best with my sprinters and milers, above average with my 10-12f horses and I haven't put much time into my 14f horses or my stayers. If I win a Group race I'll be pleasantly surprised.
So for anyone out there who thinks his/her horses wont be good enough I say you will still win races. Thats why we have handicaps and although last seasons handicaps were a bit of a mess, I think things will be better this season. There are plenty of trainers who can offer help and advice if needed and the closer we get to the start of things there will be some threads discussing the league and advice for new or the less experience trainers.
The more the merrier.

Yeah, I'm trying to fix TOM so all the trainer tables etc. work. Easier to do it out of season

anubisrich wrote: Yeah, I'm trying to fix TOM so all the trainer tables etc. work. Easier to do it out of season Good work Rich, it was a bit annoying it didn't work last season. Now with the schedule do you want some help or maybe a thread on here to discuss it? I think we've already said it just needs trimming and refining. One thing I never understood is why the World Cup meeting is at the end of the season? Is this because if it was near the start, as irl, we wouldn't be that far out the maidens and trainers didn't know where they stood with their horses and the ratings weren't accurate - which could lead to a horse not making the cut if it was unlucky or injured in a maiden? Cutting the 9,11,13,17f handicaps is definitely the right thing for me, bar the big handicaps and Listed/Group races over them trips AND maybe one race at each of the distances over the course of the season? Personally Id also like to see the best races from some of the lesser tracks too. So my local track has the Brighton Mile and another race over 1m4. Low grade stuff but it would also fit the schedule? Just some ideas. I think i might be a bit tired and very slight sunstroke so hope it makes some sense!

 Re: The League Poll (1)
Yes there are a load of schedule tweaks that I think we can make, I think the World Cup races were at the end of the season as a sort of "Championship race" but I think we can just have the breeders cup for that.

 Re: The League Poll (1)
I think it diluted the quality of the races having both cards in the same week. Ok so I know that at the World Cup some races are 4yo+ but there were a few that weren't. We could have full weeks for the World Cup Meeting, Royal Ascot and the Breeders Cup. Also Goodwood is a good meeting, but maybe it wouldn't take up a full week.
How far away do you think we might be?

 Re: The League Poll (1)
i have noticed in so5 the 3yo are far weaker than the 4 & 5yo so we def need more 3yo only races and 4yo+ races as i think it will be very difficult for a 3yo to beat a 5yo its a big gap between younger and older horses in so5 vast difference any1 else noticed this or just me

My 3 year olds are in no way weaker than my 4/5 year olds.
