I had probably the most positive attitude to the league after it's well documented breakdown, making numerous suggestions which have now been acted upon. The uncalled for criticism and election debacle at that time and events since then have eroded this attitude unfortunately. I will however continue to have my say on the league, whether anyone cares is for others to decide, frankly I don't give a toss. I have other ventures to concentrate my time on.

I will be very surprised if Colm does anything with TOM after the treatment he received from certain quarters.

If Dave does not have the time he should say so, nobody is criticising Dave, but the league needs to move on.

The recent trials have proved that the league can be run manually, but still the ASAP posts continue. WHY?

My recent post was merely raising the question of whether Dave had now finished. It did not warrant your remarks at all.

A lot of people have put a lot of time into this game.

Really? How?

I'm going to have a say. Fair enough.
I don't give a toss what you think of my opinions. Fair enough.
I have another life outside of SO4. Fair enough.

Care to explain your side Mikey.

Would be nice if you stick to topic instead of bringing in other (rather tedious comments) like your buddy Bazdev. (YAWN).

PS:
Not the best example to set as a moderator attacking other peoples comments. Tut Tut. Shame on you Mikey.

If you don't like what I say just ban me matey - I haven't broken any forum rules that you haven't but hey go ahead anyway. Go on wield the axe Mikey Boy

Tell you what Mike set up a poll asking if members want me banned. If you win ban me - no hard feelings if I lose.

As you say you have other ventures so please do us ALL a favour and go and concentrate on that, the only time you ever post is to have a negative attitude or an attack on someone which at the current time is mostly Rich as he got the presidency rather than you. We all know the situation so why YOU think YOU have to be told if dave is busy or left and why colm is involved is beyond me. Quite frankly l dont think you need to be told anything to do with the league

I am a registered user of this product and unless you ban me I have a right to voice my opinions. Simple as that Mikey Boy.

Go set up the poll.

I'm sorry, on this Steve you're embarassing yourself.

Dave is busy, Colm is also very busy but is well versed in TOM and has access to the website as well. So tell me, why, in the name of god, would I not seek his assistance? Am I not allowed to talk to him?

Of course the league can be run manually, however the turnout was less than I'd like and it was very time consuming. It is far from ideal.

Colm helped throughout the whole of last season despite the battering he had received, he just doesn't shove it in your face and pretend he is the greatest thing since sliced bread. It's called class.

LOL! The only embarrassment is your league matey.

Never said you couldn't speak to him, but as Colm is in the same position as Dave, let's just say we have been down this avenue before.

What do you know about Class you're a financial advisor!

Bon Voyage.

If the main guys who can sort out TOM are far to busy, why not run the league manually?

Yes it's hard work but i know there are countless people on here who would volunteer to help out in any way to get the league up and running.

Other games for league play have been done manually before and it can be done.

Like i've said before people have offered to take a look at TOM and see if they can sort things out, this includes myself.

All what i need is the details and what needs to be sorted, and i can pass it on.

It's taking far to long now imo, we could be half way through a season if it was done manually. Clearly Dave is way to busy and am guessing Colm is also.

The time spent to run the league manually would be incredible. Yes, we have a number of people who are able to volunteer but it is not countless and, as we have seen, a lot of people have to drop their hobbies to take care of real world issues.

Plus, the take up of the manually run league wasn't as high as I would expect in the normal league. It wasn't easy to understand and involved a lot of background communication via email sending files, this poses certain risks (as I believe one of our esteemed members has found out).

You, and you alone, have kindly offered to help with TOM but at the moment it's at the stage of a friend of a friend can do something. I would be foolish to hand over website access details without further conversations.

I know there is a lot of work going into fixing TOM but It would be nice to get a final deadline for when the League will start.

Give yourself til the end of August if needed, just let us know.

ASAP doesn't cut it I'm afraid.

Don't forget we've been waiting nearly 4 months.
If ye hired a programmer he'd have it done in a week.

It's not me and me alone, bilbo and ryan has offered to help out or they know someone who could have a look into TOM.

Futher conversations? I've got someone who is willing to have a look at sorting TOM out. What do you think they are going to do CRASH the site and delete everything. These people are very professional and know there stuff rich.

At this rate Manually would be the best option, cos we are getting knowhere with TOM, and haven't been for 2 months. And am not taking a dig at you, Dave/Colm are clearly way to busy.

Let's put it like this there is enough people on here to run it manually and that's a FACT, no matter how long a process it is, better than what we've got now.

Hemz, to me this is a hard choice. I recently conducted trials and it took a solid five hours on a Sunday night to do the trials. Admittedly I haven't got the best clerical skills but I was double checking everything making sure there was no mistakes in the race card, making sure the correct horses were in the correct races etc. Not to mention several hours during the week. I only did 9 races and at times it was a little tough changing things etc throughout the week.

If and only If we did go manually I think we would have to reduce the No. of races per week from 30 or so to 20 max because it’s too much. It really is. You have to take into account the horses handicap ratings and their previous form etc and submit all that information manually and do it for 12 weeks. If you get 2 or 3 people doing it manually we would all have to be on the same page as well. So I'm not totally against manual league but it’s not that easy as well. I have now learned to be more appreciative of TOM than before.
