I cannot believe that I won two races this week. Oranjestad won the grade 2 John Smiths Hurdle and Isbon (got to love when you miss name a horse and it ends up being one of your best ones) landed a 3m6f grade 3 race. I guess I should be looking more seriously at where some of my horses are heading. I'm really enjoying being back in the league and I'm looking forward to Mondays like I have never done before.

Excellent. Im glad you have come back to the league as well. Im going to push for more trainers next season and it might be nice if yourself and others can encourage as many trainers as we can get!

Good luck for the rest of the season.

BIG things expected this week!!! I fancy my chances in the 3m hurdle at Newbury, hope there is a decent pace so Ambry doesn't have to hit the front too soon. Total Class has a big chance in the Grade 1 Novice Chase over 2m4 if he stands up! A few of those that have disappointed so far could be nicely handicapped in some decent handicaps. Both the Seren, guess the sire's name, horses should have big chances in the Hennessey. Think I might be dreaming a bit!

Love to see some pace in the bumper so Clip Clop can show her true form.

Best chances of the week are

Waters of life : Conditions are perfect and expecting a big run

Botanist : Will be therabouts scratched Crazy Wold runs instead and expect him to win

In the Hennessy Cyrana de Bergerac is still nicely weighted but there are some good looking horses carrying no weight in particular Good luck Effer so can't see a victory here

Summer Olympics A fairyhouse specialist and the ground is ideal

Chain Ladder Last week seemed to far will be close at this distance

Tango Dancer Being crying out for the step in trip

East of Eden carried almost 12 stone last week could make it 3 in a row scratched

Crazy Wolf : Best chance of the week. And I make him my nap scratched Crazy wolf and Glastonbury runs instead decided to sacrifice handicap mark. Will probably win

Excited to have a realistic chance in getting my first Grade 1. On The Razle won the rising stars grade 2, would be napping him if the ground was good or firm. The softer ground is a worry given his previous form on it.
King Richard goes in the Henessey, loves Newbury, but there does appear to be some nice unexposed types in the race. Would be happy with a top 4 run from him.

Post Re: National Hunt talk reaction and banter
Here is a rundown of my NH runners this week: I'm not quite so confident as I was last week, but here goes...

Race 1: Coral Ascot Hurdle: 2m3f: Oak Rival Crystal: 5th in week 1 on unsuitable ground, took the lead at 4f out and weakened badly. Tried 2m3f in week 2 and didn't run on, finished midfield. He's trying 2m3f again, hopefully soft will be better for him and he won't get bogged down. I'm not 100% sure where he stands among mine in the league as he missed last week, he is very good on his day and Ascot was his best track in CK; he was rarely beaten there.

Race 5: Fixed Brush Handicap Hurdle: Sage Ii: He ran well last week in the graded hurdle over 3m1f, and ended up midfield which was gutting because he'll be high in the handicap here. The ground will suit him better here and as long as he isn't lumbered with 12 st he could run a big race.

Race 7: Betfair Handicap Chase: 2m3f: Oak Diamond Currency: Won the mare's chase over 2m6f last week. This trip will be too short, but providing she jumps as well as she did last week she could have a chance. I was desperate to give her a run this week which is why she is in here, she is higher in the handicap and it will be tough. She could run well.

Race 10: Grand Sefton Handicap Chase: 2m5f: Oak San Rose: Won the Paddy Power last week and is higher in the handicap for that. He did trial well over the National fences in the CK so the same would apply as last week. If he can jump around he will be in with a chance, Aintree is a flatter track so the extra furlong isn't ideal but not too much of a worry, though the ground is a major concern.

Race 11: Aintree Handicap Hurdle: 2m3f: Oak Crystal Rose: Still struggling to find a trip for this one, but she ran really well in the mare's listed hurdle over 2m last time. Hopefully the 2m3f won't bother her too much, but I would be concerned about the ground and the weight she may have to carry.

Race 12: Aintree Juvenile Handicap: 2m1f: Rival Ii: He'll have a lovely low weight, but he will hate the heavy and has been running abysmally. Next week will be his last chance in the league.

Race 14: Fullers London Pride Novice Chase: 2m4f: Chick Ii: I wanted to give him another go over fences, the ground will suit but there are plenty of jumping efforts around Newbury which could catch him out. I'll see how he goes, he could place if he jumps around.

Race 15: Hennessey Gold Cup: 3m2f: Oak Blazing Rose and Forest Viking: Oak Blazing Rose: The same applies as last week, hopefully she'll jump better this week and not get outpaced.
Forest Viking: Ran well again last week and the extra furlong will help. I'll be trying to gradually step him up to 3m4-5f. Hopefully there'll be some decent pace on in this race so his staying power will come into full effect.
Both could be high enough in the handicap, but if they both get in the race I'm hopeful one or both could get some more place prize money.

Race 16: Sportingbet Long Distance: 3m: Blazon Ii: He ran awfully last week and I wonder if it was because of the good ground. Back on G/S and up in trip. If he stays I hope he'll run well, but it is a little unknown and he has been running well over 2m4f and 2m5f. I'm very much looking forward to the race.

Race 17: Sporting Bet Gerry Fielden: 2m1f: Oak Dancing Crystal: Another juvenile who has been disappointing. He has looked outpaced over 2 miles, but blatantly didn't stay 2m4f. He shouldn't mind the g/s, but this is a bit of a fact finding mission; he does have a nice weight.

Race 20: Royal Bond Novice Hurdle: 2m: Dance of Life Ii: He'll hate the heavy, but there's no other race for him barring the bumper which he has proven multiple times are too hot for him. He jumps well so that will be the only thing that shouldn't bother him!

Race 21: Hatton's Grace Hurdle: 2m4f: Oak Diamond Rose: She ran really well in the 2m4f G2 race last week so she's stepping up in class again here. The heavy won't suit, but she did keep staying on at the end last time so she might just keep galloping when others cannot.

Race 22: Moore's Millions Stayers: 3m7f: Coco Palm Ii: The ground won't suit, but he has just kept galloping each time he has run. He won't be stopping at the end, it's just a case of whether he can keep up at the beginning and not blunder himself out of contention.

Race 27: Eric Kelly Chase: 4m: Geraldine: I'm absolutely livid still about his rating of 137 so he has no option but to run in this graded race. Hopefully he will either be well outclassed and finish last so his rating will be lower for next time. Or he'll win and prove he is better than I thought. The good ground will suit.

Gmail LTD Mare's Handicap: 2m2f: Oak Dancing Rosie: She ran really well over 2m last time and finished 4th the step up in trip will help and she has a nice middle rating if Leon keeps his mare in the race. Hopefully she can take this. NAP

R3 Carey Group Hcp Chase
Potty Time the ground will be against this one but i think is well Handicap and will go close.

R5 Fixed Brush Hcp Hurdle
Penzance in the trials was one of the best hurdlers over this distance so i am dissapointed with his performances this season and again the ground maybe to soft but as placed Prospects.

R6 Newton Handicap Hurdle
Castle In The Sky Well Handicap i really fancy this will pck up a big race so very hopeful in this Handicap.

R10 Grand Sefton Hcp Chase

My tony 6th in a maiden on debut and 5th in listed Juvenile looks well chucked in on that form outstanding chance really confident.

R17 Sportingbet Gerry Feilden
Castle Secret will go close very good horse not shown is true form yet.

Post Re: NH week 4 races
Could of been a better week for me won the Fixed Brush Hurdle with PENZANCE for the second time in three seasons seems my horse's like this race WINMORE LOSELESS won in the Betfair H'cap Chase and NED FLANDERS won the Aintree H'cap Hurdle by seven lengths.

Plus Two second with Basic Instinct in the Group 2 Coral Hurdle and Face The Facts also in a Group 2 Amlin 1965 Chase somebody needs to pop drop Keithbeaky's yard and nobbled that On The Money

Just one disappointment but a good week really.

Nothing to report from me this week. Hopefully the handicapper will be kind and drop my horses even further.

The Becher chase was carnage! Just the 9 finishers from 19 starters

Congratulations to all winners and placers this week

A good effort by my stable this week to help me forget an absolute terrible week 3
1st-3
2nd-2
3rd-2
4th-2
5th-1
Funny face - made a fantastic winning debut taking a grade 2 nov chase. hopefully alot more to come from this mare
cleveland way - this lad has been disappointing but ran a great race this week to take second in the hennessy
Shes the one - this fantastic mare ran a blinder this week again to take 3rd in the grade 1 betfair chase. she would have won no problem last week but for an abysmal ride by the jockey
Susiedal - good win for this boy in the 3m6 chase, was keeping him for the welsh national but his handicap mark may be through the roof now
West hill dancer - gutsy win in the grade 2 long distance hurdle just getting up in the closing stages.
This is the One - Another great performance from this mare finishing unfortunately another poor ride by the jockey giving her too much to do for the second week running

Four runners - 1st, 2nd, 4th, 0. Extremely gutsy performance from Smoky G to take the Group 1 2m4f hurdle. First G1 winner for my yard. Thought i'd have a flat Group winner before NH but can't complain.

Really happy with my yard 2 winners this time both from handicaps

R17 2m1 0-140 Hurdle - My Mate Knight did well to win by a length in this handicap hurdle race. Was super light on weight which really helped and i think was bottom weight even, in the final furlongs two heavy weighted horses tried to mount a challenge but could not catch My Mate Knight one was even pauls star horse Luftanza who finished third carrying top weight with another horse coming second which also carried top weight..thank goodness my horse was light as paper..

R28 2m2 0-110 Chase - Badr Payton very nice win.. The horse was favorite of the race with a form of 474, Badr Payton raced well even though blundering alot of times but still won, i was nervous on that last jump which he did badly and the horses came really close to beat mine especially Supercat's horse which nearly beat me to the line because of that bad jump Badr Payton did.. I think he is really a 2m horse and cant really handle the extra 2f that well so will look for 2m chase handicaps for this one in week 5..

Decent 4th place by Blades Busy a bit disappointed the way she ran :( but the two handicap wins made me really happy :D

Congrats to all Winners and Placers.. Till next Week

Shockingly awful week for me. My main hopes all fell and most of the others either got god awful rides or could just never get into it. The best result was Geraldine who was 4th again in a 4m chase! VERY frustrating!

Rich And Easy won the Grade2 Hurdle at Ascot, with the first two a little clear. She's better than I hope though I still have my concerns about her staying 2m4 at Cheltenham. Will be worth finding out in the Relkeel next week

On The Money destroyed a decent field in the Amlin and although I think her jumping is suspect I hope she can win at Cheltenham. Not sure which race yet.

Oath needs further than 2m, or a very stiff track. Absaretch was outpaced and outclassed in the Betfair Chase. He needs 3m3. Seren Oath Only had too much weight to carry in the Fixed Brush. Hope she will come down a few lbs for handicaps. She Comes And Goes the same.

Clip Clop finally showed her true form in the bumper. Given a better ride this week and we cleaned up on Betfair.

Seren Get Genius couldnt handle the National fences. Ambry Ya Oath stood up but is proving disappointing. Go Get was readily outpaced four out but I was pleased with her in that race. Seren Get Breeding ran well in the Hennessy finishing fifth. Seren Get Filly is awful.

Ambry Ya Filly again ran well in the Long Distance Hurdle. He must have a chance in the stayers at Cheltenham. Late Run needs 2m4. Seren Get Oath was a shade disappointing in the 3m6 chase. Total Class ran well in the Grade1 novice chase. See where he goes next.

Almost Full won the Grade1 novice hurdle at Fairyhouse. He's pretty good but im not sure he's good enough for the Supreme so that was a surprise. Mart DN wasn't good enough in the 2m4 version. Welcome Party didn't stay 2m7 at Fontwell so he will be in the Neptune this week.

A good week I suppose. Disappointed with some but got to be really happy with Rich And Easy, On The Money and Almost Full. And Clip Clop finally showed what she is capable of.
