You're going to start this again Stu? Either stop criticizing my handicapping or take the job yourself. I read all the comment every week for every race. I don't miss your disgruntlement with my efforts. I bothers me immensely you keep this up. DEAL WITH IT. I do not give my horses extra points off. If anything I am hesitant to drop points on my horses. I notice trainers who are slumping and I give them more points off in the hopes their horses become more competitive. You have been a beneficiary of this policy along with your continued griping helping you get some more points off.

Your comment for your horse was a comment about my horse.

Yeah, I think my run as handicapper is done. A new start for SO7 may be good...

I actually enjoyed it for the most part and put a lot of effort into it. Thanks for the kudos over the years. They were appreciated.

I'm a bit confused. I have case where Walden Instrument is rated higher than Ninth Configuration, who has beaten Walden Instrument twice in maidens and by quite far on the first occasion. Is this a mistake? The ratings should at least be the other way around. Not the it makes much difference to me as they won't be going handicapping but was just curious as to why this was the case

Walden Instrument form 704 rating 108

Ninth configuration form 621 rating 106

I actually think you have missed raising Ninth Configuration. Walden Instrument looks right but Ninth COnfiguration is clearly wrong. If you let me know what it should be I will raise the rating

Actually I hadn't noticed it was a dead heat and took it as a shd so I should have both winners on 107 (now corrected), thanks for pointing that out.

It's the 3lb sex allowance adjusted because handicaps don't adjust for this and it would favour colts and stallions if I didn't do the adjustment. So Walden carried 3lb more and was beaten just under half a length so actually is 2lb better off if they met in a handicap.

Just a heads up about a few races.

Coral Eclipse Stake - the field was too big. So some of the wide runners I have treated as non starters and left their ratings alone. Some couldn't be move because of past performances and a few that could be tweaked I have left as is.

Sandown Mile 2yos. - a dogs breakfast is being kind. These horses I have rated as non starters because of the wide draw. Ghost of Mambo, Cucumber Cool, Sanad, Pose Reilly, Run/Roses, Moonrise T, Homeboy, Rosiemary M.

Coral Extended Marathon. - Burning Bullet, Foshan Drift and Quickfire Maria were disadvantaged of their wide draw and the first bend so I haven't moved their ratings as I see them as pretty much non starters.

Always Dreaming for D.Hughes. Although your horse won it's first start in week one in a G1 - it has shown zippo since and I have reduced it's rating.

I have also notice an Australian G1 race in week two (I can't remember the name) but the form from that race doesn't appear to be standing up. The winner and the second horse I am starting to drop their ratings

Impossible to rate this race if you had a double figure draw your chance was almost gone winner was drawn 13 but got a good early possy
and is a top class horse Leon's horse performed a miracle from 22 to even get into the top 10 so think you have done the right thing Doug

Sometimes as a trainer you just have to roll with the punches luck should even out over a whole season. P.S it was a brilliant performance
by the winner we have had a couple of belting races last 2 nights the Eclipse and July Cup were epic

We going to keep having this problem unles we do something about it. We can split the handicaps but it is the group races that are the issues as not enough races for 10f.

This week there is one 10f race for 3+ horses, and 1 group race for 9.5 furlongs. These races are going to get absolutely hammered. We may have to add a race or 2 each week to alleviate some of the pressure

I believe coming up is week 8.

We have a 9f G1 for 3yos - 9.5f open G1 - 9.5f 0-110 - 10f 0-95 - 11f 0-80.

Hopefully the 0-110 will ease the G1 over 9.5f and the 3yos head over for the 9f G1.

Hopefully. Those 10f handicaps can be split if they get to full.

Not sure what size field Oceanport can handle. But being an American track it's highly doubtful more than 20. We might get 2 races in Oceanport with huge fields. We already have had a massive field 8.5 furlong in week 2 in Austraila and it didn't go well. The 9f race will pull a few milers as well so may get a large number of entries.

Let's see what unfolds.
