Online League Rules

General

Clones : No full brothers or sisters are allowed. These will be treated as clones and removed from your stable

Age : Horse must be a year older than the previous season. eg if 3 last season must be 4 this season, if 3 two seasons ago it must be 5 this season.

Name : Horses must have a different name to horses you have previously uploaded, else they won't be accepted

Mid Season uploads - after week 5 and before week 6. You will be allowed to upload new horses. You will be able to retire a max of 5 horses and you can upload as many horses as you want up to the max stable size ( 20 for flat and 30 for NH )

Flat

1. Group 1 / group 2 - a max of 16 entries, lowest rated will be eliminated

2. Group 1 - no unraced horses will be allowed in group 1

3. Group 1 Handicaps Horses must Run 3 times to run in Group 1 Handicaps.

4. Handicaps - horses will be allowed in handicaps 2f either side of their best maiden run. If they have not run in a maiden then 2f either side of their best run. The exception to this is 2m + where horses will be elgible for 2f less than their best run and all races greater than their best run.

NH

1. Grade 1 NH Races -- No unraced horses will be allowed in Grade 1 Chase,Hurdle or Grade 1 Novice or Juvenile hurdles, Chases

2. Novices - when uploading you will need to declare whether a horse is a novice or not. They will then remain a novice for the rest of the season

3. Handicaps - Horses are eligible for 3f either side of their best run

4. Grand National horse must of had 3 runs and raced once over 4miles to qualify to race in The National if you intend to upload any national horse after week 5 its up to you to make sure you get them 3 runs. i did it last season with King Of Hearts who got 4 runs before the National its up to trainers to make sure its got 3 runs and makes it a much fairer race and not moan if you fail to get them 3 Runs.

5. Hunter Chasers Horse will be Rated Under 100 and Not have run in any Grade Race but can run in Graded Handicap Races

6. Handicaps No Horse Can run in a Handicap Chase Or Hurdle until it has run in a Chase Or Hurdle Race.

Please Discuss and let know your views know about any rules you disagree with or would like to see.

Group 1 handicap field sizes should be stated as an exception in 1.

Also I don't understand this part "The exception to this is 2m + where horses will be elgible for 2f less than their best run and all races greater than their best run"

Personally I think in flat races 2m+ the rule should revert to NH rules and 3f either side of their best maiden or best race result.

Cheers, Gray.

The 2m bit as I read it simply means you can handicap at 2m if your horses best run was down to 1.6m or up at say 2.4m, the later being key as you do not need to enter two horses to cover the extreme distances and the 2m's.

Most G1H are now 0-110 I have left 2 or 3 and I don't Count G1H has group races when you see the new Schedule you will notice this I have added more Group Races to week 13 so the top Trainers Horses can still run and hopefully a fairer last week with the Pegasus the final race of Flat Season.

Quick question for the hunter chases. Can I use a returning horse who has form in graded races? Do returning horses maintain there end of season ratings?

Why are Group 1 and 2 races restricted to 16 runners. They aren't in real life and I can see no logical reason for this. Guineas / Derby / Arc quite often have 20 odd runners. More runners equals more chance of a dramatic race and finish with the possibility of an upset. Real life track limits would make more sense as I recall some races last year where horses were running off the track. it is quite feasible for 30 runners to run up the mile track at Newmarket without causing any issues.

Not complaining just curious as I thought the idea was to make things to be as realistic as possible.

Leon has coded the hunter chase so it will stop graded runners being eligible to run Josh so if a horse from last season returns that ran in Grade races tom will pick it up so I expect it will not qualify but its a new race so if any horse from last season and is Rated under 100 I can enter it Manually if requested.

Martin ever since I started playing the online league I think this rule has been in place i don't know why i expect it was to keep the low rated no chance horse out of the race i would rather have a Min rated horse like in real Racing where a horse must be Rated high enough to enter grade 1 races.

Greetings from Shanghai, China :-)

I must say i am very happy with hunter chase races being added.
Smart move, Gray - it will add some extra spark to the hunt with us lower rated trainers :-)

One quick question before I begin uploading.

Do 4yo NH horses have to be declared Novices. Or can you set them as non novices so you can run them in races like Champion hurdle etc. Bit confusing because in real life a 4yo is always a novice but can run in these races.

Novice or Open Martin but I think some Races are 5UP but these are Chasers.
