Post Re: Weekly Reaction
Well after a couple of weeks off, managed to double my season flat wins in one week! Benoot Henao getting up late in the Ebor, won that for the 2nd year running which is a nice touch.

On a different note, i've realised my enthusiasm and motivation for playing the game has dwindled over the last few weeks, so i think i'm going to go back to the drawing board, clear away all my saved data and have a crack at breeding horses for next season using just 1 saved game, the amount of horses i've bred over the past few years gives a lack of identity/"relatability" to the horses i have in the league this season (if that makes sense).

I'm thinking of training every horse i breed until at least the age of 6/7, and not look at their detailed stats until i retire them to the barn, so that i treat every horse on its merits based what it does on the track, not just binning 90% of them off due to poor bars etc. Also i don't think i'll trial any horses in the CK.

I have no doubt that the quality of my league horses next year will be significantly lower because of this, but i feel like a win would be a lot more satisfying. Just thought i'd mention my thoughts, i guess i've just suffered a burnout from breeding 1000's of horses over the last few years for minimal gains!

Finally, i'd like to thank everyone who is involved in helping this league run so smoothly, the amount of your own personal free time you put into this is amazing, there have been numerous times that i have wanted to throw my hat back into the ring for handicapping/commentaries but i simply do not have the time, especially with a baby due in May. So a massive to thanks to everyone again, and good luck to everyone at Cheltenham.

Congratulations Martyn, you will at least have plenty of time to watch the races at 2 or 3 in the morning :)

Just a whinge

This week, only 17 races on the flat under 0-110 out of 38 ??? and no double entries on the lower races...any chance of allowing some double entries Gray on the lower end ??

How come you have 2 in the Glenfarclas and the Gold Cup. I haven't seen any mention of 2 entry races at Cheltenham other than the Pertemps . Did I miss something

I don't have any objection to double entries but where was this information made available ?

Hopefully we will get some clarification and an official announcement soon then. It won't be a good situation if some trainers get their second one eliminated last minute if its an error. Similarly there may be trainers unaware depending how they enter. I do my entries in a notebook and then just upload them all in one go so wouldn't necessarily notice a second entry option from TOM.

There is nothing mentioned in the post regarding double entries and hcp min and max ratings.

No drama for me as I have zilch to enter in Grade 1 Hunt but I can understand that there should have been something mentioned or if indeed it is a glitch.

Great first day on the flat for me, though only the one winner ‘The Bookeeper’ took my first ever classic at the st leger. Very pleased with that.

More miss than hit at Cheltenham with a lot of my team struggling with the firm ground. One winner on the day from the ‘Eagle has Landed’ in the coral cup, and honourable mentions to ‘Shesa Animal’ and ‘Sky High’ 2nd in the Queen Mother and the Arkle respectably, poor jumping did not help either. Heavy rain over night and some of my best prospects may yield a change of fortune for the next two days.

:D :D :D :D :D :D

Where do I start ??

Amazing first day at Cheltenham for me, I guess the firm ground and some fortune gave me two winners a 2nd and a 4th & 5th

Winning the Mares Hurdle G2 with "Doug's Plastic Paradise" (the fortune of Leon's horse blowing the last flite) but then to follow up and with "Doctors Willow" taking it up 4F's out and winning the Close Brothers Handicap was unreal.

Mentions to "Corsican Boy" coming 2nd in the Glen"farcical" Cross Country chase & now on his way to the GN, & a 4th from "Arabian Hands" in the carnage of the QM along with a fifth from "Africa" in the RSA, topped a fine day for my Hunt Stable.

I guess the ground played into my hands, but I will be honest, I don't care

But it didn't stop there.....on the flat....

"King George" DH in the Old Borough Cup Handicap and being close to top weight was a fine finish, shame as not too many 14F races in the last 3 weeks for it to head too (its a monster at 6 over the jumps  )

So its been the best day I think in recent memory I have had, with 3 winners in total.

As a side note, I really fancy mine in the Pertemps today, but must not be greedy.

Well done to all other winners, placers and the Team that make it happen.
