Post Re: Weekly Reaction
6 winners on opening day 4 on the
flat including 1 dead heat and 2 in NHC

Edwina Curry
my 1m2 turf horse her main target is the Prix Diane was
delighted to see her get off the mark at a shorter trip and
she won quite strongly a classic trial next id imagine

Forfilla
A very speedy Juvenile a ball of speed really just got up to
dead heat onto stakes races next

Rebound
My most impressive winner of the day is a 1m1f horse but
she stayed out the trip well she got into a winning position
and by the time the final furlong came she had enough of
a lead Duty Free Next.

Ice Cold Fusion
Got off the mark impressively running out the winner by 1 1/4 L
this is a division i always struggle with (Sprinters) off to Meydan next

Royal Chinnox
My Supreme novices horse and a smart debut from him made his
challenge fairly late but powerfully moved to the lead to win

Juliet Bravo
My Number one 2m4f Chaser she came home strong and powerfully
not sure where she goes next but will be a stakes race

Thanks to the whole team for your hard work and especially the new
team members you all do a wonderful job.

Doug love your comment about LAMBO jeez 100/1 EVERYONE GET ON
he ran well will come on for the run but class comms as always

Martin some really good performances from your team and well
done to the rest of the winners and placers and to the rest dont
give up.

ONE LAST QUESTION who is Gene Rosen
what a start to your career well done stella stuff

I was very surprised Lambo got beat considering it's stats/bars - even more surprised that there is another monster to beat Lambo - Should be some good match races coming up.

As i have stated many times the stat bars make up a fraction of a horses ability some people had full bar
3yo's last year John even has full bar 2yo i have never had a full bar 3yo let alone getting near a full bar 2yo
i think people are over obsessed by the stat bars as we all know there are many hidden attributes in a horses
profile.

Interestingly both my milers were outpaced but Lambo put in a far superior performance then Dame HM
maybe that track is incredibly sharp not sure

A very nice start to the new season with 2 winners on the flat and a couple of placers on the flat and over fences.

I saw a big improvement during my flat trialling and it showed in the first days results, but only small improvements over fences where the results were not as good.

Magictown Boy won the 3yo colts race and Sugartown Girl won the 3yo fillies race. I hope they can keep up this form when the Guineas races come around in week 3. I do think the firm going helped them.

Both of these horses were late additions to my team, they are half brother\sister. I only bred their sire, (a breeding barn stallion with one of my mares), with a few days to go before the season started and they are first generation of a new line of horses. I only wish I had time to breed this line over some other distances. They have a half brother running in race 16 so I hope he continues the good form. Race 16 is a dirt race and I never trialled over dirt so who knows how he will go.

Looks like the bit of time I managed to spend as paid off. I had 2 3rds on the flat which is way better than expected and like Jim I wish I had more time As Aderyn Llwch Gwin is in my last crop.

Nh was good although I only had 1 winner, most of mine where not running in their optimum race conditions. Hereditary Rule lived up to expectations. Best 3 mile chaser I have bred in ages. Expecting big things. Wind Power fell when leading and she is tough to pass so may have run well so my 3 milers look like they may be good this season. Of the rest Omnipotence ran well enough of hurdles but is a chaser so wasn't expecting much

Not a great opening day for me. Flat was a struggle as expected though to see Ubbe Ragnarson within touching distance of Lamborghini was a pleasant surprise.

The hunt was equally poor, one of my big fancies fell in a hurdle race, not encouraged by that, and that opening 2m hurdle underlines a huge gulf in class between me and the top boys.

Kiss My Estate ran ok but faded and needs 2.4 to 2.6 really, Dominion of Titans the only other who put in a decent account for his 2nd. Ground is against me all week so can only get better, but not encouraged I have progressed in keeping with the über trainers.

Fantastic to be back all.

Folly Farm stable is excited for the handicaps as usual.

Anyway, big congratulations to Gene Rosen! A new trainer who I believe is pretty unknown on here, so to do what he has is very impressive.

Doug - Your commentaries had me in stitches

Roll on tomorrow

My usual start to the season, Zilch!, but it is only day one of the week, although I have only bred on 2 seasons since last (no time) so hardly any improvement, hence 6-7 horses have come back from last year and not because they are better a year on, just all I had to make a team.

Well done to all and the team once again for all the effort....

Gene Rosen, remarkable stuff for a first timer....Well done!

Great to be involved as a trainer for the first time. Think I was a bit lily livered with my entries and only had 7 starts on day one. Pleasantly surprised that they weren't all out with the washing.

On the flat Rumours ran ok in first group race so hopeful she will win a race later on in lesser company. Delighted with Janis Joplin as she came through nicely 2 out before being outpaced. Was running over 7 but is really a miler so hopeful the extra furlong will help next week. Cat Power wasn't too far away and like Rumours am hopeful she can be competitive in future races. Delighted with Phoenix Rising coming second although that may scupper his chances in handicaps. Gives me great hope for a couple of others bred along similar lines. I now think his half sister Mistress of Erzulie is my best hope for a flat win again despite disappointing in my trials.

Over the sticks things didn't start too well with Smoke and Mirrors terribly outpaced. May see that converted to chasing if no improvement. For a second or two I though Gonna Find A Miracle was going to live up to her name and give me an opening day win. Delighted with her run especially as she gave up a lot of ground wide on the track. Maid in Europe was never competitive and disappointed.

Better than expected opening day with two in the money. Great to be back and like everyone else am thinking...... "Who is Gene Rosen ?" ...... looks like he is gonna be a contender 'arry.

Wow I didn't think my flat horses could still compete.

Za Approval I didn't think u could win with a second season horse so it was great to see my old horse win after finding trouble as he always does.

Bella Bettini winning the 5f sprint was a total shock because she was bred a long time ago.

Johansberg 3rd , is the only full 2yo I have so it goes to show just because u have a full 2yo bar it doesn't mean they will be great.
