The World Cup of Royal Ascot
As with Cheltenham last year we will run a World Cup at Ascot. Trainers marked as UK need to advise me which country they are in. With Thunderspark having no runners again Canada are not represented so 13 countries in it. Priced up by Honest Joe Bookie as follows:
England 2/1 Wales 9/4 Ireland 5/2 Scotland 5/1 USA 100/1 Australia 100/1 Spain 100/1 Germany 100/1 Norway 100/1 France 500/1 South Africa 500/1 New Zealand 500/1 India 500/1
Individual Trainer
Paul Rhodes 1/3 John Morgan 11/4 James Shea 4/1 David Robertson 12/1 Jim Murray 12/1 Leon Van Rensburg 33/1 Joshua Sutherland 50/1 Martyn Cairns 66/1 Darren Thompson 66/1
Others on request

Stu I was looking at a way to make it a match event but with England having the bulk of trainers in the second wave, Wales having John, Gray and Leon and Scotland having Jim and David Robertson it would have made it a cakewalk for the UK. With Thunderspark not involved Paul would have been the only big gun in the ROW team. If anyone can come up with a good split we can change it for Cheltenham.

Your quite right difficult to make it interesting for anyone outside the UK.... not enough of us or good enough, other than the "Special One" of course

Re: The World Cup of Royal Ascot
That could work, we have a few handicaps the ROW could pick up and is it just the "Special One" from the emerald isle ?

One of the new chaps is from Ireland and maybe Peter Cahill may come cack next season. Also Mike is missing this season from US. We'll trial it at Cheltenham and see how it goes.
