Post Nomination questions
Howdy

Ive finally uploaded my horses and just have a couple of questions.

Can I enter an unraced horse in any race other than a Group 1 so long as its above the 75 rating, 0-110 handicap for example (all other criteria met, age, sex ect)?

When do the nominations window close for future weeks?
All my horses are unraced so I don’t know what rating they will end up with.

Cheers

Hi Jango,

Sadly not, you cannot enter an unraced horse in a handicap until it has had one run in either a maiden, listed, G3, G2.

The cut off time each week for nominations is Friday at 1600 (UK)

Horses will be rated fairly by the handicapper usually all up by Wednesday morning, enabling you to enter for the following week. You may find it is difficult in the opening week of your stable to compete in the races above, but then they will get a good mark and enable you to place better the following week in handicaps etc, unless you have some monsters

Cannot enter G1 and you also cannot enter handicaps until the horse has had a run. So group 2, 3 and listed and the maidens are where you need to look.

The races start Sunday night and finish Tuesday night Wednesday morning, handicap ratings are added reasonably quickly so you have Wednesday to 5pm Friday to do you next set of nominations. 5pm uk time on Friday is always the cut off point for weekly nominations.

Thanks guys, glad i checked.

Just to clarify, for example, race 26 Buckingham Palace Stakes, rating 0-110.
Is that a handicap even though its not stated in the name?

At the moment the only "monster" i have is a monster headache from running trials. I wont admit how many horses i sent to CK but lets just say i'll never do that again, noob mistake.
I'm excited to see how things go, anything better than last i'll call a success.
Next seasons breeding program has started with valuable lessons learnt.

Cheers

Yes it is a handicap, as far as I am aware, sorry mate.

Keep eye on this list for the future too - viewtopic.php?f=16&t=16828

By far the most brain numbing part of the game, but you will get the hang of it, I still trail like a monkey, but then that's why I prop up the league, someone's got to do it hahhaahaaa.

Ah ok, that's going to mean a change in plans.

3. Handicaps - horses will be allowed in handicaps 2f either side of their best maiden run. If they have not run in a maiden then 2f either side of their best run. The exception to this is 2m + where horses will be elgible for 2f less than their best run and all races greater than their best run.

So if my target distance is 6f, based on the rules i can run in a 8f in week 6 which should allow me to race at 6f week 7?
Sorry for the beginner questions.

Thanks for your advice

Edit: Ok plan B is a no go, there are no 8f races in week 6 i can enter, all G1 or handicaps. :(
