Re: Flat League Rules SO7
Hi everyone,
A couple of questions from a newbie;
1). Cloning...I have three horses, A, B & C all bred by the same sire and dam. If I have horse A in my stable this season, is it okay to have either horse B or horse C in my stable next season? As long as it is only one of them per season is that okay?
2). Handicap...does the 2f either side rule only apply when running in handicaps? For example if a horse's best race is 1m after two runs it will only be able to run from 6f to 1m2f in any type of race thereafter (including group races)? And does it apply for the whole career of the horse, or does it reset each season? For example if I have a horse as a 2yo this year it's probably only going to run over 6f, 7f or 1m, but as a 3yo next year its best distance night be 1m4f which would be outside of the rule applied this year as a 2yo.
Many thanks, Paul

Many thanks, Paul 1. The cloning rule may be obsolete now because they aren't clones anymore but best check with Gray/Alex/Leon. If cloning rule is still relevant then yes you can run them in separate seasons as Ii have done that many times. 2. Distance rule only applies to handicaps. Given the range of distance horses can be effective over now this is probably a rule that needs looking at for SO8. It resets every season I think ... and if it doesn't ... it should !

Thanks Martin, that helps with my planning of who to race where and when!
