What is this comment supposed to mean. I have never used the racekit to trial my horses.

Means I was pulling your leg.

Yep trails on either will do that, I am with John they are the same, but the formcard and handicap mark on the racekit are useful for helping split horses that look much the same

I'll stick to using my form book, well now its 3 form books

Luckily I love my books, I can go back about 2 or 3 years

U can guarantee 2 things in this game, the first is that over 3m+ 3 horses will get pulled up and on the flat 3 horses will run poorly in any race . My Indian Blessing ran 12th and was h'capped 70 and she won her maiden this week and is now 107. I think my zartax got the dreaded 3 in this weeks Preakness . These things happen. :D :D

My method is to grab a screenshot of the finishing racecard and paste it into an excel spreadsheet as an image.
Then i repeat for each trial until i have 5 or 6 (or whatever) images all sitting on top of each other but showing the final finishing positions.
Then its really easy to look for trends and exceptions in results, and the REALLY REALLY important part. you still have the race comments like "short of room" or "did not change speed" or "ran on".
These comments i find account for alot of the confusion about the results that everyone seems mystified about.
Yes, the CK can do weird things, but i dont think its broken at all and it is think its the exact same code as the race kit, and the race kit is a pain to manage.

I am a data analyst, so i enjoy analyzing data.
I love this game for the variables and patterns it throws up.
If it wasnt for the League i would have moved on months ago.

I play because I love my racing :D :D I played the original John McCririck Staters Orders 1 for 10 years before I got number 5 , then a month later 6 came out.

Not as much as I used to enjoy it. The standard SO6 game became too easy after about 5 months and I turned to the league for a challenge.

I am quite a competeive person by nature, not always with others but within my own self. The original challenge was to improve my breeding lines as much as possible but I now feel that I have taken breeding as far as I can. Any improvements are so miniscule as to be hardly noticeable. At one stage I pondered with the idea of not entering any more league seasons but then I made a big breakthrough with my flat team and that gave me the impetous to carry on.

I am still doing a small amount of breeding, mostly on long distance NH horses. Up until march this year I probably spent about 35 hours a week breeding but now it is less than 10 hours a week.

I think once SO7 is released the enthusiasm will return.

I do that, simply by taking photos of the card on my phone, though once I get to the final trial group I do not bother and just use the results.

Like Jim, I used too, but it stopped being a challenge for me even before I entered my first league and I had already largely stopped playing at this point. I picked it up again when improving for the league became my motivation to push the boundaries on breeding and it is the only reason I still play today. The challenge of the game itself has diminished even further though.

More recently with the installation of wife version 2.0 and baby version 1.0. My play time has reduced significantly, but my stock is good enough that I can stay competitive without much effort, I have just done a new NH batch and could easily replace and better most of my NH team for this league.

I have noticed the colours are better on your races Gray. I play the races through a 55" monitor in the highest resolution to do my comms and the difference is incredible (although I could do without the longshot at the finish !).

Jim - 35 hours a week mate, that's a full time job. I hope you are on a good rate

I must be the only person who still likes playing it. :D If I hadn't joined the league i'd still be playing it but instead of breeding i'd be using the gamebred horses.

I still really enjoy playing the single player game - I enjoy it a lot. If the league stopped, I'd still be happy with it. Dominating the league isn't my dream or desire - I've got more important stuff in life to concentrate on than that - SO6 and the league is just a mindless escape for me. I am looking forward to SO7 but if the breeding side of things for the league don't change in SO7 then I my not bother with it.
