The first race of the National Hunt season marked a new milestone with the debut of the oldest horse to take part in the Online League, the 30 year old, French bred gelding, Newzflash, owned and trained by the Spanish based trainer Stu Grey. In his pre-race comments Senor Grey did admit that this 2 mile hurdle race may be a little on the short side for the 30 year old Newzflash and that he would probably need a longer race. While we don't want to give away too much about the race, it is this pundits opinion that Senor Grey was correct and Newzsflash may do better over 3 miles rather than 2 miles. |
