Well thankfully those games are out the way, and the real games begin Saturday. Tonight provided Darren H. with the most points available possible for a team being knocked out in the first round with 500 points for Tunisia & replacing Jamie at the top....

Well yesterdays games changed the board considerably..... Doug's Japan will pick up 1125 points if knocked out today & 2250 if they go through, were as Mike at the bottom of the board will only get a 1000 points if Belgium win the whole thing... Holders of any one with a 33+ multiplier team are sitting in good positions. Uruguay held by half of you will only receive 600 points if knocked out on the Qtrs. If I were a betting man Darren Howells (don't win much in the league lol) is in pole.  I will admit I am not so sure about the format, but was something new to try, still quite a few permutations of points, will come clearer once we get to the semis |

I'm too good at picking teams to go through apparently... But you do have to make your picks to match the scoring for the tournament - in order to win you do need to have the longshots that advance. In four years maybe I'll get that down right. |

Well the fall of the final 75 rated team, Japan. Selected by just one person (Doug) picks up the largest point haul for one team so far. Although I think if Belgium needed to rely on a fortunate misguided header come cross and Fellani to get you back into a game, then they've got problems

Well, down to the final eight & top of the board is Darren H, leading by a couple of hundred points with two teams remaining (Belgium & Russia) Alex in 2nd with only the one team left but, it is also the only 66 rated team left in (Sweden) and a guaranteed minimum of 1980 points. At the bottom we have several players with 3 teams left Mike, Daniel, John, Martin, Myself, Josh and Paul. It should favour those holding Russia & Croatia who are also guaranteed a minimum of 1500 & 990 points.

The World Cup that keeps giving with the demise of the mighty Brazil and a measly 90 points to whoever chose them All change at the top as Holger goes to No.1 with 2526 points and has one remaining selection (Croatia), followed by both Darren's, (DH has Belgium & Russia left) (DT just Belgium) at the bottom Both Josh & I (Some of you will say, we deserve it ) but we both have 3 teams left.

I need England to beat France in the final. But that would probably not be enough. It is a great competition though, well thought out, Stu. Good luck for the remaining games, everyone! ( As a Norwegian I cant decide if I want Sweden or England to win tomorrow. We support our neighbors, but in footballing sense all Norwegians are at least half British. Anyway, I definitely will get a team to root for in the semis  )
