Howdy While running some of the Flat maidens this week it made me think about the class of horses entering them. Maybe i am mistaken but i thought Maidens are a kind of Debut race for untested horses. Now to be fair i am guilty of entering some of my rated horses in the maidens in the hope of stealing a win and because there is no other race to drop them in. But i would be interested what others think of having a max rating of say 80 (or whatever) for horses entering Maidens. It would give some of the lower handicap runners a chance in another race and at least they would know to expect an unrated monster if one runs. Just a thought bubble, feel free to pop. Cheers |

A Maiden to put it simply is a race for horses who have never won a race it has nothing to do with horses making a start in real life some horses in maidens have had 20 runs+ If your horse has never won a race you are entitled to enter maiden races in real life too |
