Post The new SOPL International Season
* 30th of May for D&D closure and races.
* Week 1 nominations and first upload window close on the 13th of June

Please don't upload horses to TOM yet. I will let you know when to do that.

Also, we may need some new volunteers, if you have some time to give, please email me at

colmodea@iol.ie

Thanks all for your patience. Hope to see you all on the track.

Good point JL, a refresher would be good.

Basically for now, get playing, get trialling...

Then closer to the time the new TOM (a website where you can upload your horses, enter races etc. basically the game on the web) will be launched and the link given (the main website for the league is gallopracerseries.yuku.com, grab yourself a free account there now).

The key dates are May 30th, when all donate and draft horses have to be entered. This is a chance for the less experienced players to grab some good horses from the more experienced players, you will also be able to download the races and watch them. Then June 13th is the closing date for all your uploads for the first 4 weeks. Don't use your full stable allowance then as you have another 2 or 3 upload windows as the season goes on. The learning curve is savagely quick so don't be disheartened, last season was my first and I went from struggling to place in maidens to an Irish Derby & Oaks double and the Cheltenham Gold Cup.

D&D Races will probably be posted this week sometime.

The league races will be posted on the forum in the USRA, NHC & UKRA section.

http://gallopracerseries.yuku.com/directory

USRA races are released on Wednesdays
NHC races are released on Thursdays
UKRA races are released on Fridays

Personally I think the NHC races should be swapped with UKRA and released on Fridays giving the NHC Race Secretary more time.

Colm can you confirm the release dates I have mentioned still stand.

Thanks
Jay

Yep, those days are correct Jason.

Week 1&2 D&D races will be released tomorrow
Week 3&4 D&D races will be released Wednesday

I will post the links to download the files.

The D&D will be run next Sunday, so have your Picks made by then. I will mail the horse files to the winners on Sunday/Monday so you can trial them and see which you wish to use for your stable.

Col, I've searched for the D&D races to download but can't find them. Are they available?

Thanks Col, I've got goose bumps and the league hasen't even started!

I know that the horses entered in D&D arn't supposed to be the best of the best but are those times a rough guide for a horser to be able to compete in the league? I know there are many other factors but is that what we are looking time wise??

Cheers

Ignore D&D.

Prepare for week 1 - don't upload too many because the likelihood is most of yours will get ripped to pieces!! Then you know how much you need to improve by

Make sure you upload in the different leagues as well. USA isn't as packed out, best horse doesn't always win because of the draw effect.

Trial on the American tracks though, you will find some horses take to dirt better.
