Hi Hackett,

Each Trainer is allowed one Primary Stable and two secondary stables if they wish to use them.

So, if I use the UK league as my home base (or Primary stable), then the US and the NHC (if I wish to utilise them) will be my secondary stables and are bound by their secondary limits for stable size.

I can transfer 5 horses between my stables over the course of a season. If I find out that one of the UK flat horses runs better on dirt, then I can transfer him to my US stable, where there's a greater selection of suitable races on that ground.

Also, if one of my flat horses has a preference for soft ground and the weather forecast is showing a long dry summer, then I could opt to transfer it to my National Hunt stable, where the winter months are approaching.

Hope that answers your question. If you need anymore help, just ask.

Cheers..

Colm

Colm,

When uploading your horses to tom you have to put in there distance mate, is that the distance there breeding indicator shows or the distance they are winning over?

One of my horses say there a 1m 2f horse but all they win over is 7f so would i enter the distance on tom as the 1m 2f indicator or the 7f its winning over?

cheers m8

I look upon breeding distance as just a guide. For entering horses into TOM, I use the distance that I intend to run them at, so I don't forget.

Thanks colm,

I take it then if you put 1m it dont stop you running it over 1m 2f if you want to?

Exactly, when I enter a horse as 1m, that's my intention to stay near that distance. It may get the occasional run at 7f or 1m1f, but 1m will constitute near 75/80% of it's races.

The distance you use now, won't prevent you from running it further away from that indicator in the future.

I made a mistake with a few of them put for example 1m2f but written in the notes but run best at such a distance but it's annoying when entering them in a race as the notes don't show, it's only a few horses i used the breed indicator rather then the distance it runs best at, not to worry i'll just try and find out which horses i made the mistake on and make a note in note pad for when i'm entering the next races.

Let us know which horse you made the mistake on, and what the distance should be. We can change them in the DB for you.
