Post All my exported horses have vanished from my CK
Hi Mark,

Just gone into my CK and all my horses are gone. I've got no folders or anything.

I'm in shock. Can i get them back? I updated to the new patch.

This could be me finished with the game.

I had 500+ horses in my CK.

Presuming you have not manually backed up your hdb_ file you should quit the game immediately and open explorer and click documents. Double click startersorders7 folder and browse the saves folder.

Immediately copy any files starting with 'hdb_' to a safe place.

Following that look for a hdb_ file (in your saves location) with a .bak extension and rename it to '.db' instead of '.bak'.

A reminder to always manually back up your hdb files if you have lots of horses exported. It only takes a moment.

Hi Mark,

I did back it up.

It's the first time my CK had zero exported horses.

Is it possible to retrieve them?

If you have a manual backup then they are not lost. Delete the hdb_ file that is 1kb in size and Rename the .bak file (3865kb) so this file gets picked up. Make sure you have these files backed up (copied elsewhere) before doing this.

Not sure if I've done it correctly but still no horses show up in my CK.

I have had this on so6, though I now keep multiple back ups of my entire game on a couple of USB’s.

From your imagine it looks like the .bak version is still populated with your files, copy it elsewhere to be safe and rename it to the non .bak one and you should be good.

I've renamed the file and it's still not working.

So frustrating. Not sure what to do now.

Mark is looking into it. Hope i can get them back otherwise it's going to be difficult to continue.

What i did last night was tried out the export all function in my game and because it froze for some time i ctrl/alt/delete my game. This i believe crashed my exports in the CK.

No Paul i didn't i'm afraid!!! School boy error on my part, definitely lessons learnt. My breeding operation was going in the right direction as well. Just means my trailing is going to be hit and miss now. I have nothing to gauge my current exports with.

On a positive note i still have my current 2 games. Will take a far few seasons before i get the hang of things again.

Thanks for the help everyone.

League breeding is such a time investment that regular backups are essential. I have a copy of my whole save on two separate pc’s and then 3 more rolling backups on a USB. I also cut out the export file and back that up separately, used to do the same with the tff. We have all been there, losing games and files etc, and it sucks.

How did you back up the exports mate? I'm terrified every patch now because I've already lost mine twice, but never get round to it. I may as well do it today

Hey Kniesh. HDB files save the to a new location. Dropbox or Onedrive.
