Does anyone think the time of year you export a horse matters? I know as a rule that the later you export a 3yo or a 2yo in the year, the stronger the horse should be, however this is real life. Do we think this transfer's to the game?

The earlier I can export my horses, the quicker I can get through seasons, just don't want my horses paying for it in the trials.

Yes I think it matters, in simple terms you want them when they are at there best for any given age, so depending on their deterioration point you might want them early or end of season. So7 is a little different from six though as the horses age better and hold potential longer, so right now I am end of season or rather end of year exporting them. In both of my games, U.K. jump and Aus flat. The jumps is easy as the season rolls over and starts in September so you have some runs in them. The Aus flat game, been so long since I played it, starts August but they don’t age yearly when the calendar rolls so I get some races in them early, rest them and export towards the end of season, February maybe.

I haven't invested a heap of time into breeding for the coming season but what ive noticed is that sometimes a horse's form can fall of a cliff at any point during a season.
So in the last couple seasons i have started exporting a horse soon as it recovers from a good win.
Having said that, my Group 1 winning horses are frequently getting smashed by lesser performing horses in the trials.

Maybe its just my game but ive never seen such a disparity between the in-game performances and best distance of a horse and to how it performs in the trials.

I see much the same, there is little correlation between game performance and trail performance, Leon had suggested some time back that he bred this out, I have been steadily doing the same with a trial success only breeding barn, but I have not see any real change in the difference between trail and game, if anything my game performances are just getting worse. It is my biggest issue with so7, but then I am also past caring what they do in game, I export just about everything that looks half decent. I am in league mode, least with the NH.

I only have a set day for my 5 year olds and that is about 4 or 5 days into their season. My best jump horses in game are my best horses in CK but so far I don't have any horses below 3miles over fences or hurdles. My flat team are all over the place and so it's hard to judge how good their are in CK.

Interesting, I always export my 3 an 4 yos after 4/5 runs in a season in about late August. I was hoping to get away with fewer runs, therefore less time spent entering 100+ horses during the season. Guess i'll stick to it. 2yo's I always export in October after 4/5 runs.

I agree with the game form being useless. I've never really paid any attention to game form though, even in SO6, literally just keep all my horses for the trials, except anything that is obviously not good enough, so 2yo's that are rated lower than 70 after a few runs, or 3yo's the same.

Just to add to the complexity, the stamina of many of my horses rises midway through age 3.
I run the Australian game, i'd be interested to hear if this is also happens to others running the UK game?

So, do i export before or after the mid-season change in stamina.

The whole stamina bar thing is weird in this edition. I have a 4 mile chaser who has the stamina bar of a 2 miler. He is only 6 though so I am thinking it may rise as he gets older but he won all the 3m hurdles by a mile and has already hacked up over 3m5f at 6. All very confusing.

The stamina bar does go up at funny times on the flat with this new game but the jumps stamina seems easier to read in my game.
