Re: Trainers Thoughts & Reviews
2 Winners on day 2 both on the flat
Park Royal Back to winning ways after her disappointing run in Australia she is an out and out 5 furlong specialist. She managed to carry the weight and this was her 4th victory this season looking forward to the nunthorpe with her.
Seychelles Off the mark to become my 19th individual winner on the flat. She did it well in the Golf At Goodwood Nursery still have Group One hopes for her.
The 3YOs V The Older Generation Debate It's certainly starting to look that the older horses have the edge based on recent evidence I don't think there is a huge amount in it but the further up in distance it appears the bigger the advantage. I certainly wont be changing the way I do things I will still have a big team of horses for the classics they are the races I love and adore if anything I can make room for some more older horses by getting rid of some of my 2YO's certainly its given me food for thought and will keep a keen eye of the rest of the generational battles.
congratulations to the winners and placers huge thanks to the team and the comms team.

Re: Trainers Thoughts & Reviews
What a difference a day makes, could not do a thing right day one on the NH but everything fell into place day 2. Even the White Witch won, though she was aided by a stumble.
Angel on my shoulder was especially impressive and looked a little more like the horse I trialled.
Blank on the flat but Belladona still gave a gutsy performance for 3rd.

Re: Trainers Thoughts & Reviews
Great week for stable winning G1's in both leagues. If someone would have said you'll win G1 on the flat i would have LOL. Flat league is just for fun, it bores me to death.
Flat Team
Aymard Cruzene (1st G1) - Awesome front running performance. Didn't think he was going to last home. It's been a great week for my flat team.
NH Team
Landscape Road (1st Grade 1) - Very happy with this result. I have a live Gold Cup contender and trust me he will stay every single yard of the trip.
Subya Near (1st Grade 2) - Back to winning ways with this mare. Been racin in top company all season. Nice to see her win again today.
Zomaradah Alarab (1st) - This was a great performance giving huge weight away to the field and winning easily in the end. Ryanair Chase is the target, I have high hopes of a massive run in the race.
Probably my best week so far this season. My horses are starting to hit form at the right time.
Congrats to all the winner and places. Thanks to the team for making it happen. Roll on Week 9 festivals fast approaching.

Re: Trainers Thoughts & Reviews
Terrible week for me.
Flat
Milano Matrix 2nd - Just got caught on the line, Id say he went for home too soon.
View Lizzie 6th - Really disappointing with this one, Might be the trip that cost her.
Douze Points 13th - Draw was wide, will go up a furlong next week if there is a race.
Points Washington 9th - Terrible at 0-95 upwards, hoping theres a easy race next week.
NH
Bella Bertolini 4th - Nice run, but thought she would run better, was staying on will go up in trip.
Johns Spirit 10th - Big disappoint with him, thought he was much better than Fathom Five clearly not!
Fathom Five 3rd - Really delighted with him, On wards and upwards!
Well done Comms and Winners!

Re: Trainers Thoughts & Reviews
Whoohoo had my first winner on the flat in a 0-90 hcp with Shine a Light and two winners over jumps including a Grade 2 with Made to be Strong ( she deserved it) but the flat win means more as it wasn't expected. Got placed in the 1m4f listed race with Pacific Pet and now wishing I had been more bold with the entries again. Thanks to everyone for producing the races and keeping the league going. Are there going to be videos for the other bonus races?

Re: Trainers Thoughts & Reviews
Congrats Dragon! Also congrats to the winner of race 7 BUT the camera angle at the York finish line needs some Sirius adjusting. I shouted "Yes! Got you." at the wire only to have the replay show that I had lost. What a let down. Oh well. The final yards of the race and the replay... https://youtu.be/08XFapD4g0w?t=208Screenshots. The first is the actual race finish and the second is the replay finish. Something seems off...

Re: Trainers Thoughts & Reviews
Very good first day for me, 3 wins from 3 races on the flat. With Quatro catch completing a hat trick, lady Kinloch picking up a group 2 and a nice win off near top weight in a 5f handicap with sadifiya svetlana, Appears my horses love York.
A nice handicap win for barren scroop in the nh, i was really expecting the horse to be group class, was transferred in week 5 and from trials was expecting much better but nice to pick up a win with him and means i can potentially have a go at the champion hurdle with him now he has a win.
All 4 winners were transfers from week 5 so shows a bit of improvement from my original horses.

Re: Trainers Thoughts & Reviews
3 winners today 2 on the flat 1 over the sticks
AHSARI NEYIM Classy horse on his day but as a hold up horse needs alot of luck everything came together today has now to go from G2 company to G1 company. Arc main target but maybe up against it against older gen.
MORTIFIED Got down to a decent mark even so made a bit of a meal of it but got the job done to become my 20th individual winning flat horse from 30 uploads. She needs to improve a stone to make the picture at the Breeders Cup.
SIR MICHAEL CAINE Ran well all season and bags his 2nd win of the season nice that it was a major handicap. Will most likely run in the county hurdle next week.
Cracking finishes in the Yorkshire Oaks & Juddmonte International yes the older horses have the advantage but the 3YO's were not far behind a short head in the both races a top class 3YO can live with the older horses even if at a small disadvantage. certainly have not seen anything that will drastically change the way I build my team. But also good food for thought.
Huge thanks to the team & great Comms as always well done to the winners and placers especially C Beckwith with your first flat win with Shine The Light many congrats.

Re: Trainers Thoughts & Reviews
I still think it is all about how you breed, if you push the boundaries at 3yo then your 3yo crop will measure up to those producing older flat horses from jump type lines maturing later, it will just take time since we cannot see what we are doing but even in so6 older horses were better to start off with, I will guess in everyone’s stable.
Anyhoo, blank on the flat for me, odd if brave run from Belladona. The Leon and Josh show continues on the NH which must be really boring for everyone else 3 wins couple of near misses and we head into to Cheltenham which usually decides the title, though I remain certain I am shooting for 2nd.

Over 1m2 there isn't much difference , I don't know about 1m4 because I don't have any. MT horse Brief would have gone close to winning that race if it wasn't for a bonehead jockey. Remember in the long term the 3yo will get that weight allowance from the older horses . I don't think there's that much difference really .

Githyanki wrote: The Leon and Josh show continues on the NH which must be really boring for everyone else Nooooo..... what makes you say that 66% of the races have been won by others more or less so not so bad, Cheltenham might be a little dull by day 3 if you guys clean up...... PU's on the hunt, we have gone from far too many to virtually non-existent!! (controversial lol)

Re: Trainers Thoughts & Reviews
I get pull ups in my trials but normally horses that are crap, by the time we get to league teams I expect that to have been weeded out, personally I think it is an improvement.

Re: Trainers Thoughts & Reviews
Tough week over both codes. Nothing really to shout home about. For me personally it hasn't been a boring NH season. Been some great races won by a mixture of trainers small, medium and large stables. Congrats to all winner and places. Looking very good for the titles now LVR and Paul You will see next season big improvements from everyone in both leagues and the gaps will be a lot closer.
