Post handicap
i have a problem with a horse of mine. one run, is a 3m chaser and nothing else. no 3m chases other than gp1's for weeks and he's not group class. has run over 3m in a chase and im entering him in a 3m chase, also put up 24lbs for his run so the handicapper has not been light with him!

can you let me know if he will be pulled out of the silver cup at ascot week 6 in advance as ill put another in if this is the case.

thanks

steve

I had the same problem with Snow Princess I had to runner her in a couple of Grade 2 races and this week she won a handicap, you will run into grade 1/2 horses in maiden races anyway.

Also you don't need to run all your horses every week some weeks less than half my stable run.

i just think it would have a chance in the race and that is the next obvious step.

in real horse racing when a horse wins its first or second race it gets a handicap mark and can run accordingly. i just hope that they realise this and don't pull it out, thats what im trying to make sure of.

another horse in the race midas way has only run in 1 chase 1 hurdle, so if mine gets pulled that one should.

but the rules in real life are clear, win get a mark and can run in a handicap.

but rich has said here the horse must run twice for before it goes in a handicap and he would be strict with the jumps.

wanted some clarification.

The weight to be carried by a horse in a handicap is determined by the horse's Official Rating. This is a figure given to every horse after one of the following happens.

1. The horse wins a race
2. The horse loses 3 times and in at least one of these races the horse finishes in the first six positions. If it does not get a top six finish in the first three runs, then it must continue racing until it achieves a top six position before it receives an Official Rating.

Hi steven

I think Exit To Court will get scratched from the race because all horses must of had atleast 2-3 runs to enter a handicap race

i have also seen you have some debut horses entered in gr1 races
all horses must of had atleast one run to enter gr1 races

Yep it will be withdrawn. One more race over 3m and it will be eligible for 3m handicaps.

Why are you worried about entering a G1? A maiden winner is no easy feat.

Under BHA rules if a horse wins first time out it may be given a handicap rating yes.

In this game you need two runs over the distance or 3 in total. Those are the rules that everyone else abides by, this is to ensure fairness. I don't know why this is a joke?
