Note that I will not be contesting any handicap races

All these races you have looked at entering for are just the maidens and group races then Scatters i take it?

Your horses are good so i can well believe thats all you need look at ( maidens, Group races ) most trainers looking at handicaps will probably get a lot more runs out of there horses this year i think.

Cant really guess at what races i might contest untill i see what sort of quality the new batch i enter turn out like, will have 2yo sprinters entered remember there being a few good races for them but need to have a good look at the schedule any tips on what ages to represent would be useful mate i know you have probably had a good look through already.

Sadly a few of the good horses of mine last year i cleared out there older files by mistake and now have to start with all new horses, wanted to re enter some to see how they went, shame really but lesson learned got my new horses older files backed up on key in case we get another season in after this one.

You are correct on both points craig. Also my 2yo's who are 3yo now cannot participate in the maidens and there are three or four in this catagory.

I'll see if I can do a breakdown on all the available races later.

Cheers

I'm going to struggle filling 10 stable boxes, never mind 30! And i'm not even going to bother with NH, unless I throw 2 or 3 in for enjoyment.

I'm been going through the schedule and only have 1 race i'm targeting.

Is the time left for uploads on TOM final or will that be extended?

It will be extended.

Dave tells me that a lot of the rules can be added to TOM which will make it a much better user experience. He also has a couple of concerns regarding the number of races and how these will be displayed in TOM. I would be happy to extend the start date of the season to get the rules properly implemented into TOM, whilst most of the players do come on the forum and check the rules they can be easy to forget at 11.57pm on Saturday night after a few scoops or if you are new.

Rich any idea of a start date yet? also will there be a limit to how many runs a horse can have i suggested 8 runs before but not sure on that now because that means with a stable of 30 you will only beable to enter 240 of the 309 races for NHC and 240 from 382 for UKRA but does everyone think that is enough?

I hope not, Dave's got to upload the schedule and as many of the rules that can be done simply.

I think 8 runs will be OK, most horses don't run that many times in a 17 week season (but there are uploads during so it's not a fair comparison). Easily changed if it becomes obvious that 8 is not enough.

I don't like the idea of limiting how many runs a horse can have. Why should that be down to anyone else other than the trainer? If there is to be a limit i think 8 is ridiculously low... i know we're trying to make this as realistic as possible, but lets remember it is still a game...

There are only 12 weeks of racing it must be remembered so 8 runs is 2 weeks on, 1 week off. I expect most horses would do that anyway.

I will be flexible though.

I only had about 12 horses last year, this year will probably be the same, but I enjoyed entering the horses each week and watching them all run, each weekend. So I'd personally not be in favour of a run limit.
