Post SOPL 13 Pre Season Trials Now On!!!
I have been given the go ahead by Rich to conduct pre season trials to wet our appetite before SOPL season 13 starts and to levitate the withdrawal symptoms some of us have had due to the delays (me included).

I am conducting flat trials and what you need to do is send me your horse files with the race you want entered below. There will be 9 races in total. The horses you send me by email will also be allowed to be entered in the upcoming league or you can omit them from the league if you want. They are trials only and are not counted as official winners in the league. They are only a barometer to the upcoming league and if anything might assist in the bookies determining more accurate prices for the maidens.

I have used non league distances so as to not reveal too much for league purposes just in case some trainers want to keep their horses ability close to their chests.

Every nomination I will receive I will up date on the forums and post odds if some one is willing to do the odds as well.

So send your horse file and nominate the race.

Nominations Close 5pm Sunday 3rd July (AUST time)
Please no late entries. I will send the results to Rich Tuesday 5th July (AUST time) and he can post them on the online forums.

Rules:
1. One horse per race per trainer.
2. You can change your nominations by email but if I receive it after 5pm Sunday 3rd July (AUST time) it will be rejected no excuses. I don’t want to be swamped at the last minute with a lot of changes.
3. Course is Randwick and AUS locality.
4. Track is heavy!!
5. All open sex

when u say post results online do u mean a race replay or just a list of results?? also heavy going is a killer.

i kind of like this idea and the other day was thinking about doing something similar for the nhc. Problem is are we not going to know too much too soon. Perhaps some trainers will become disheartened before the season begins by seeing their horses get blown away?? just some initial thoughts John, Im not criticising. as i said id been thinkin about doing the same for the jumps. Just wanted to raise a few potential concerns some trainers may have.

I suppose we all know you and thunder are going to dominate anyway!!!

Ill send you some files tomorrow

Great idea John

I'll send around 3 horses probaly non-league horses. I assume we dont need to worry abour resetting ratings for this one.

One question tho is why the strange distances?
Race 1 and 4 = 5 1/2f
Race 2 and 5 = 6 3/4f
Race 3 and 6 = 8 1/2f

John is still the one to beat. But I'm thinking Del might surprise us with his horses. The delay might actually work out for some people.

I hope Ryan that you do the same for NHC cuz it would be good for the NHC trainers and I have around 3 horses I'd like to test.

Actually using the race kit as we do for the league.

About Knowing too much too soon, that's why I've used heavy going and used odd distances.
About disheartening other trainers, well there are plenty of handicap races so everyone still has a great chance!!!

The exact reason Ry mentioned above, to not give too much away as far as how good the horses will perform in the league.

Try the following path:

c:/ProgramData/starters orders 4/exports/horses

If the path doesn't exist then just export a horse in your game, when you export it tells you where the file is going.

Ryan you won commentator hands down, was like watching telly only at times even better. :)

Not really sure I like the idea of trials, might put me off entering certain horses. I can understand the reasons why but I like the first few weeks of the league the most when nobody really knows anything. The anticipation and surprise is so worth all the work/play.
Got no flat runners anyway, lost Mission Cuckoo and he was better at 4yo.
