Just a word of advice:

Winners of handicaps are being looked at very carefully and are given weight rises in accordance with their 'deception'.

Weight rises are as follows

10lb for horse who has not moved at all from maiden run distance.
15lb for slight variations e.g. 15f to 16f
20lb for bigger defaults e.g. 12f to 10f
25lb for more obvious deceptions 11f to 9f
30lb for ridiculous deceptions 8f to 6f

This is something Rich and I have discussed and agreed upon.

Also, some players are putting well weighted horses into listed/group races, these will be hit very hard even if they finish well down the field.

I would also add that if you feel you have a Group horse then do feel free to place in it better quality races to get it's mark up otherwise you may not be able to get it in.

So many dilemmas :)

Yes that is true.

But if it fails to live up to expectations then it is going to be very difficult to retreat and win handicaps.

Established trainers will be more adept at this so tread carefully if your relatively new.

I still have unraced horses so i have to put them in group/listed races.

Listed or group 3 would be better Jimmy.

Sorry long week and only just stopped. Can you explain this a bit better, my brain is mush!

So I've won two handicaps, but the horses are running at their correct distance. Will they be put up?

If the distance they ran over in their maiden is exactly the same as the handicap they won they will go up 10lbs.

If the two distances differ they will go up more than 10lbs in accordance with distance change.

Just checked your stable Keith,

Your two handicap winners went up 10lbs each - the minimum rise for handicap win.
