Post TOM 11 - Horse Management - Final Testing
As per my earlier post, I've made some major changes to the backend database structure. These changes should assist with addressing the major problems we had that made it difficult to rollover seasons.

While I haven't yet tested it, the new structure should cope with the current season while also allowing for the same (correctly aged) horse to run in future seasons. In fact the new structure should allow for the possibility of multiple concurrent leagues with correctly aged horses eg this season 2yo, next season horse must be 3yo etc.

I've also tidied up a little bit of the navigation and the display showing the number of horses etc

I've added the breeding and the default rating - I assume it is still 51???

I've also fixed the problem of messages persisting after a horse is uploaded so if you returned to upload a horse you got an old message.

The final change is also significant but not yet visible. I've added in an audit table for any change to a horse status - upload, retire, delete, transfer. In addition to this information, it captures a timestamp along with the IP address. It should discourage any dodgy stuff but also provide some useful meta data when tracking a horse history.

I think the best scenario is that I upload the schedule tomorrow but I doubt I will get the race entry functions up and running. I appreciate your patience but as I've said before, if we can get this version of TOM where we want it, it will pay dividends in the future.

Thanks again for the detailed testing and constructive feedback which makes a difference when I'm trying to fix things.

Cheers

DD

Just in case of any confusion, I am still an hour or two away from completing the next major chunk - the race noms and race entries.

It's close but I've run out of time to finish right now. I should have something ready for testing in the next day or so.

I've parked tidying up the race details to focus on the race entries. The basic race details are enough to get on to the race entries and I can tidy up the meta data later.

I'll post when it's ready for testing (as opposed to looking ready for testing)

Does that also include new horses to the league?

I'm new to the league, so forgive me if these are dum questions.

Is this the handicap rating you are talking about?

If it is, do you change it in the ck yourself or is it done automatically when you upload horses to the league?
