Hi, I have a query regarding the distance spread allowed for long distance chasers, as there may be an error in TOM.
I ran my horse "Money Never Sleeps" last week over 4m3f, his only run to date in a chase, and TOM has allowed me to enter him in Race 25, Moores Million qualifier, over 3m5f.
Can someone please let me know if I have to scratch him.

Been trawling through old posts and I have a question on the best distance limit piece.

So I have a horse with a best average of 1.2, he performed well at both 1m and 1.4 in game, firstly does the prescribed best average distance have any relevance in the league? Secondly what degree of freedom do I have in distance, I have seen anything from 1 to 3f's in this thread.

So if his first two races are say 1.2, do I have the option to take him into 1m and 1.4 or do I have to pick which end he will make up the numbers for in the league?

On the flat you can go 2 furlongs either side of the first maiden run so you are best off running at what you think is the horses best distance and you have some leeway. In this scenario if your horse ran first over 1.2 then he could enter handicaps between 1m and 1.4. There is a slight difference with 2m+ races. All races from 2m to 2.5 are classed as one regarding the distance spread. I.E. If your horse runs first at 2m he can enter a handicap at 2.5 and vice versa.
P.S. good luck

Ok so some careful or tactical first entries then. If ran say a 6f and came nowhere, then a 1.2 and placed, I assume the 1.2 is taken as the distance from which I have the 2f freedom?

Assume it is 2m and upwards, so I cannot do say 2m then down to a 1.5?

Can I put multiple horses in the same race, not convinced this is sensible but most of my team run the same sort of distances, cannot breed a decent sprinter or distance horse for the life of me :)

Is it also correct that if i run a maiden the horse cannot run anything else until it has won one?

Get the logic behind doing yourself out of a decent handicap rating simply by entering races beyond the horses ability, but running g1's and finding out where i stand appeals even if i end up ruining one for the season.

when uploading my horses to flat stable, do i simply have it as novice for jumps status?

don't worry about it for flat it makes no difference. It will default to Novice anyway

I understand not being allowed to use someone elses uploaded line in league, i.e. mr rhodes ( thanks for them gems Paul) but is it ok to use my own 'other' game lines? i have 2 or 3 gooduns from one game breeding in my new game :)

You can use horses from as many games/different breeding lines as you want as long as it's your own/gamebred bloodlines with no one else's horses in them. A lot of people tend to save a good horse to the game pool.

For example if you find a top quality miler with good stats you can transfer them out into the game pool and start a new game transferring that horse in and just trying to breed milers in that game and do this for as many distances as you want. I tend to stick with just the one game and mix the breeding, either way you can be competitive.
