Hi guys, it's very quiet on here recently so I thought of a little competition to keep this side of the forum going over these long winter months.

The competition will start on Boxing day with the Kempton meeting and I will try to include lots of the major races between then and the Punchestown festival in the spring, including Cheltenham and Aintree. At the big festivals I will only choose between 2-3 races a day as I don't want it to be too biased towards these. Just a bit of fun of course.

RULES:
We will pick 1 horse for each feature race that I put up on the list below (more races will be included closer to the time).
Entries must by submitted by noon(ish) on the day of the race.
In the case of a late non-runner I will allow people to change their predictions, if anyone doesn't change their NR selection I will put you on the SP fav so at least you still have a chance to score points. In case of joint fav's then half points will be awarded.

POINTS:
I shall use standard bookmakers rules with points scoring so in races where there are 7 or less runners: 1st: 10 points 2nd: 6 points
8 - 15 runners: 1st: 10 points 2nd: 6 points 3rd: 4 points
16+ runners: 1st: 10 points 2nd: 6 points 3rd: 4 points 4th: 2 points
20+ runners: 1st 10 points 2nd: 6 points 3rd: 4 points 4th: 2 points 5th: 1 point.


BONUS POINTS: If you back a winner at an SP of 3/1 or bigger: 1 point.
6/1 or bigger: 2 points.
9/1 or bigger: 3 points.
ANY horse that is backed and wins/places at an SP of 12/1 or bigger shall gain 1 extra bonus point on top of the usual points accrued above.
All prices will be SP and I will use those prices from the racing post results (I believe they use William Hill).
I am also thinking of races like the grand national at Aintree being double points, this would also keep the competition alive longer for some.

27th: JUST ADDED: Leopardstown 1.20 Dial-a-bet chase. Chepstow: 2.35 Welsh national

28th: Leopardstown: 2.55 Lexus chase.

29th: Leopardstown: 2.00 Ryanair hurdle.
