Basateen ran at the carnival & showed nothing, so its pointless bringing him back, they may start him off at Al Aali get him used to dirt.

yeah really dissapointing but he didnt do himself any favours by misbehaving on the way to post and then behind the stalls.

I cant wait to see Gleneagles take on Solow, how do you pick the winner of that.

Post Re: Flat discussion
Today has proved why I've fallen out of love with our flat racing.

It's not about competition but about Stud value, my favourite flat horse of all time was a horse called Mtoto who was a 1m2 horse who hated soft ground and would run under a tree if it started to rain but still ran on soft ground in the King George. It wouldn't happen anymore because of the ££££ if they lose( god forbid a horse loses). I don't care if he goes and wins every race after today he will never be a all time great.

What a Bottle Job.

It was not even soft, more like g/s. The times were only 2 or 3 seconds of standard.

I was glad Gosden didn't win it. :D The worst King George......Ever.

Come on Treve give him a spanking in the Arc( if they can be bothered to turn up).

Owners and Trainers bitch about prize money and u have a 1mill pound prize and people cant be bothered turning up, they should just shut up.

You mean at Meydan: when have they ever had soft or heavy ground out there?

Sorry but i have to strongly disagree with you regarding Golden Horn.

He's won in the Feilden,Dante,Derby,Eclipse in a short space of time. Why on earth but you risk him in ground softer than he wants. He's got the option of running at York in a couple weeks then he'll probably finish in the Arc. The last thing he wants is a slog in soft ground.

As for Flintshire he's another who doesnt want soft ground so why bother running him.

The Ground was not Soft, the times don't back that up. It was good/soft by the time the King George was run.

It was the worst King George field I've ever seen, if u take out Treve the older horses are a poor bunch and the Arc is over 2 months away. They can make up any excuse they want but great horses can run on anything that's what makes them Great. Sea the Stars was by the same sire and he went on anything.

Whatever the ground Treve runs on it win/lose, Frankel ran on anything. They are trying to make him go unbeaten for his stud value.

Lets just hope everyone turns up for the big event this week. Now that will be a race.

The ground might not have been really soft but they would have made it a real slog. They would have went off 100mph and try to expose him. His big target is the Arc.

Another thing is you keep going on about stud value, wasnt it John Gosden who pulled him out. Why would he care about stud value, he's being whats best for the horse.

Plus like i said about 1month ago. Anyone who names Golden Horn in the same sentence as Frankel is stupid. Frankel was unbeatable.

Can anyone answer me because I'm confused and I cant answer it.

This week Gleneagles will get 8 pounds from Solow and yet will only get 3 pounds if they meet in the Queen Elizabeth in October. How can that be! Is that why the 3yo's dominate this race.

Now I cant believe 3yo horses improve 5 pounds in that short time.

In the US they usually get around 3 or 4 pounds no matter what the time is.
