I think he went too early on tagroodah, plus her race in the king george would have been harder than tapestrys previous race. There weren't many other options, bar the vermeille which I think would be a bit too close to the arc, particularly on potentially softer ground which she is unproven on. For me that would be my biggest worry for her going into the arc, the softer ground, not the fact she's been beaten by an inferior horse. There are a myriad of reasons why a horse may/will not run to its best form each time it races, she may not have been 100% on the day, just as kingman clearly wasn't in the guineas

Strange how Gosden and Hannigan disagree with you both said there were no excuses she was beat by a better horse on the day
Tapestry has always been a quality filly actually has been incredibly unlucky through her career her saddle completely slipped in Irish Oaks
to call her inferior makes it sound she is a million miles behind Taghrooda in class & that is far from correct.

Agree with you PJ, just as Taghrooda fans will say she was below her best there is just as good an argument to say Tapestry hasn't shown her best until now. A great race involving 2 quality fillies.

Agree with you Pricey 2 high class fillies.

I have noticed this on twitter & in other areas too Taghrooda fans clutching at straws trying to come up with an excuse for her performance You have to listen to the people involved at the core of the situation and they both said she ran her race nothing was amiss just beat by a
better horse on the day you only have to look at a replay of the Irish Oaks to see how Tapestry was finishing (without a saddle) you cant
say this was a one hit wonder by Tapestry.

Even though as everyone knows i am Ballydoyle/Coolmore through and through i love any good horse
Taghrooda is a high class filly and if kept on she will prove it again i regard her very very highly & have enjoyed watching her

Paul Hannigan Today : "Taghrooda losing was hard to take. She had a big build-up, all my family and friends had gone expecting her to win.

"We had no excuses, we were just beaten by a high-class filly.

"Usually, when she quickens she quickens and gallops away, but I don't want it to sound like I'm making excuses for her, the winner is very good."

Big year for Atzeni in 2015, think he'll do well. Should hopefully mean I back more winners due to the amount Spencer somehow gets beat!!

Its time that Fallon and Dettori retired. Both have really gone this season and although their horsemanship can still be very good their brains are clearly not what they used to be.

Surprised that JS retired in saying that its been a bad year for him
He has been a decent Jock but not out the top drawer IMO

Big opportunity for Atzeni he is decent & has potential

People think Spencer does well to win at times but overall he is an average jockey at best. There are so many riding better than him and a lot have been for several years. He gets beat on so many horses he should win on and really lacks a clock in his head(bad judge of pace)

No one is close to Moore but after that there are several who are leagues above Spencer. As a punter we often notice the bad rides more so than the good, and we dont know what it is like to ride in a real race, but I still dont understand how Spencer ever got the job in the first place. Who knows what really happened. Was he told he was losing the job and then suggested he be racing manager?

Good show on RTE last night 'Power In The Blood' anyone see it? PJ you might be particularly interested as it had a long look at Australia/Ballydoyle but anyone with an interest in racing would enjoy. Check it out on the RTE player.

Can't watch it in England. :(

Or maybe it's just East Anglia because we got Australia beat in the Guineas!
