I just read that Victor Espinoza hit American Pharoah 32 times in the Derby( jeffing Clown), I wonder what he would get over here for that, then he was fined for braking the skin of a filly. I couldn't imagine what he would be looking at over here for those two.

The last time I can think of a horse took that much pounding was Rachael Alexander in the woodward a few years ago from Calvin Borel and I think it affected her the rest of her career, I'm hoping it doesn't affect him the same.

Just another reason to go against American Pharoah in the Preakness. I will stick by my opinion that he gave everything he had to win the most famous race in the world.

I will bet against Dortmund because I think all the hard races he has run this year will catch up to him running back this fast AND perhaps more importantly his huge frame is at a disadvantage at Pimlico.

I can't find fault in Firing Line with the exception maybe of he likes to hang in the stretch

I will settle on a fresh horse who ran a lights out performance last out. Divining Rod rated nicely just off a fast pace in the Lexington and then won going away with an impressive final quarter.

His quarters in the Lexington - 24.1 23.4 24.4 23.3 / That 23.3 is a serious late burst. Leparoux chose to ride Danzig Moon but Castellano on is probably an improvement.

Well that was an impressive performance. Had it all his way so one would expect that type of performance. I will go against him again in the Belmont because he is totally not bred for the distance but he is a freak and could quite well do it.

F#@* the idiots at Pimlico and NBC if they are behind the decision to not move all the race post times up by half an hour or more or shorten the time between the previous races. A novice with no weather chops could have looked at the weather radar and said "It will rain heavily at Pimlico starting at 6:15".

I'm not sure that's right, I think because of the way he runs it doesn't look like he's going that fast. He just devours the ground. His works are very fast and I think he's not had the perfect set up yet.

I know people will say he had a easily lead but he went very fast the first 3-4 furlongs and if he was a average horse he would have got beaten today. So far his times have been average and he will need to run a fast race to be classed in the same breath as the great one's.

I'm wondering where Calculator would fit in to this 3 year old picture. He was injured after a nice win in the Sham Stakes and was second to American Pharoah twice as a 2 year old. I loved him on the Derby Trail before he got injured and think he could steal the show from AP. But where would he fit in with the Triple Crown. I think he would have run really well in the Belmont Stakes as his direct sire line is made for 12 furlongs. What do you all think?

I thought all along that American Pharoah was the best 3yo and I rated him about 3L better than any other horse before the Triple Crown, the real Dark Horse was Khozan who really impressed me( and that takes a lot ) at Gulfstream. If he ever makes it back it will be a hell of a race.

I think if no horse takes him on in the Belmont then I think he will travel through the race and win( to much Class). I'm not sure if this horse will run in it but a dark horse is Whiskey Ticket by Ghostzapper from the family of Secretariat, is bred to run long. This horse is miles away from getting anywhere near AP but this race is always full of shocks and he might spring a shock.

I think AP will win though.
