What wundering what people's opinions are on it. Im a big fan and normally do quite well there, just abit dissapointed on the switch to the dirt.

2.45 - Artigiano - Alot of positives for this horse. Firstly being by american sire Distorted humour this gives him a very good chance on acting on the dirt. Secondly he's been gelded which can only have a positive effect with him being a free going sort and finally the step up to 1m 1f should suit as he always seems to be staying on over the mile.

3.20 - Ahtoug After finished 5th on his reappearance i was dissapointed but found out a week later that Charlie Appleby said he was behind others in work and he would need the run. He certainly ran like he needed it. Always runs well in Meydan so aslong as he's come on for his reapearance he should go very close. After all he finished 2nd to Shea Shea last year in a group 1.

8/1 Win..

3.55 - Baarez Not an obvious choice on form but he held group 1 enteries as a 2yo so was kept in high regard and being by Hard spun should suit with the dirt. Think he could run into a place if fit enough first up.

20/1 E.W..

5.05 - United Color A chance taken on United Color is risky with him being a sprinter stepping up to 7f but he has group 1 form over 6f so he might just get away with it being back into a handicap.

13/2 Win..

5.40 - Vercingtorix My shorty for the day. The best race of the Meydan carnivle so far. A proven group 1 runner winner and producted a career best when running well to finish 2nd behind Just a Way. Likes the conditions but has a quirky race fit True Story to contend with but if he fit enough on his reappearance and gets into a battle with True story i think he could come out on top.

7/4 Win..

6.15 - Hunters Light and Mushreq Firstly Hunters Light a proven grade 1 performer, hasnt ran in a handicap since 2011 so been campagned at the highest level but this step back into a handicap should suit although he is turning 7 so wont be improving but he might have to much class for these. Only negative is the draw. Secondly Mushreq another campagned at group level and finished a well beaten to True story on reappearance but that's not to bad. Again he's turning 7 but back into a handicap he should go close. Again he's drawn wide. But hopefully these to have to much class. You'll surely come out with a winner if you back these two.

My only bet on the card will be Vercingetorix.

I like Meydan during the winter, as PJ says it fills a gap and is usually pretty competitive stuff.

A magic day at Meydan..

Pays good to stick to the main trainers at Meydan - Saeed Bin Suroor and Mike De Kock.

2.45 - Artigiano ran a weird race. Seemed to run lazy and in snatches but finished 3rd. Maybe some blinkers will help next time. But a decent debut on dirt.

3.20 - Ahtoug seemed to struggle to go the pace but stayed on well to just get up. May not be as good as previous years.

3.55 - Baarez ran no better than previous for the switch to dirt. Think ill stay away until he shows some form..

5.05 - United Color ran a solid race stepping up to 7f staying on well without looking like catching the winner.

5.40 - Vercingtorix ran out a really easy winner. Travelled like a dream all the way and didnt need to be extended to win beating a solid horse in True Story. Looks a real type for super saturday.

6.15 - Hunter's Light ran out a really easy winner of the closing handicap. A group horse in a handicap.

So all in all a great day punting.

3.55 ----- Yodelling.. Trainers never lied about how high he rates the horse and has got a real dirt pedigree although this looks a decent race but i fancy him alot.

3/1 Win...

4.30 ----- Forries Waltz.. Strong form in south africa for Mike De Kock winning a listed. But has been drawn 10 and has to cope with top weight but he might be better than a conditions race.

7/1 Win...

5.05 ----- Ahzeemah.. A real strong group performer and Saeed Bin Suroor has a real strong record in this race. Although its only over 1m 6f he might be good enough to win this.

3/1 Win...

5.40 ----- African Story.. A strong dubai horse but has to cope with the dirt and the drop back to 1m 1f. On breeding being by Pivotal this gives him a good chance to go on dirt but being 8 does he really want the switch to dirt at that age.

2/1 Win...

5.40 ----- Prince Bishop.. An solid dubai horse that thrives on the carnivle but again switches to dirt but his racing style could really help on dirt with him racing promient.

5/1 Win...

2.45 -- Layl 5/2 Win...

Won well last time on dirt debut and only went up 6pound and so is unexposed on dirt and there should be improvement still left and might be hard to beat.

3.55 -- Maftool 6/4 Win...

Ran a good race on dirt debut last time after missing the break badly but travelled wide all the way and wasnt beaten far so should reverse the form if he breaks on terms. A little worrying that a visor's added but he should be to good for these.

4.30 -- Reynaldothewizard 5/2 Win...

Copied very well with dirt at first attempt which was a listed, now steps up to group 3 but this looks no better and should win again.

5.05 -- Teletext 3/1 Win...

Has group form in France and is in a handicap so might be tough to beat if he's fit enough on.

5.40 -- Tamarkuz 2/1 Win...

Has a problem with the stalls but came out perfect last time and cruised in. Has so much unknown ability on dirt he could easily boult up aslong as he comes out the stalls.

6.15 -- Mushreq 9/2 Win...

A regular dubai runner so is slowly losing ability but i still think he has enough ability to win a handicaps, he's better drawn that last week and its probably a weaker handicap.
