On one hand it is reasonable to ask him, however not in the manner and persistent way he does. Just accept what he says and move on. Its a certainty he rides Faugheen anyway.

He is a knob on the show, but make no mistake he is not a fool. The old man was a legend in the ring. That doesn't mean he is of the same calibre, ala Clare Balding, but he's bright enough.

I rarely watch Channel Four Racing now, only for Cheltenham and Royal Ascot. I just feel, like a lot of other people, that the programme is poor now. Even now at Cheltenham, there hasn't been much of a wow factor. The presenters just keep discussing the main race and focussing on the more important runners, which means there isn't much time to discuss the upcoming race. There is just a quick look around the horses in the paddock, the runners and riders and then the start of the race. There is a lot of loud, dramatic music which adds to the tension of course, but it's not really vital.

Watching Cunningham, Luck and McGrath is like watching three blokes in the pub. I'm not saying I could do a better job at it, but something needs to be done to improve the whole programme and make it entertaining.
