So sad,

In my years of going to the races I've never quite experienced anything like those moments when it was announced Many Clouds had lost his life. A huge groan of dispair followed by several minutes of near silence. Just moments earlier the place was going wild after a gallant win against Thistlecrack, such was his popularity amongst the racing folk. Nicky Henderson walked past with tears in his eyes. He wasn't the only one...
