This is why i dislike flat racing, One horse is built up like he's an equine god and then gets thumped and drifts into the blackness of no mans land, It happens too many times, I'm not saying Expert Eye is a bad horse and he may of been injured but he isn't the first to be lorded up and fall on his face, Just seems like flat racing is so disposable now a days and it's a pretty sad thing to be honest, National hunt just seems like a much fairer version of the sport in my opinion because when you get a star like Altior or Douvan or Faugheen they stay around for longer and if they are beaten then the faith still remains

Blame Frankel the media keeps looking for another they have a long wait

TBH the ITV coverage today was all about one horse as though it was a one horse race

Not seen anything public on the injury but that stuff sometimes stays in house.

US Navy Flag was a multiple group winner a group one winner going into the race
barely got a mention.

According to Teddy Grimthorpe he said that there was a suggestion that he was lame, but they
trotted him up and he was sound.

He was when they got him home, but immediately after the race he was lame. It is in the official report.

He seems to be fine this morning according to reports which is really positive
I did think it was his keenness that got the better of him he got lit up going
into the stall apparently and bounced out and the jockey could not get cover.

Really disappointed to see him run the way he did, although if he did finish lame that's a genuine excuse. I haven't lost any faith in him.
On another note i horse that really stood out was Laurens. She's big and has tons of potential to train on next year and i think she'll be a definite contender for the Oaks. Considering her size you wouldn't think she'd perform so well as a 2yo.

I think all this talk of O'Brien breaking the world record of G1's in a season in the Racing Post Trophy has taken the attention away from who'll be winning the race, Verbal Dexterity. He has the best form in the contest and the fact Jim Bolger reckons he's as good, if not better, than Dawn Approach, New Approach and Teofilo says it all. He's also an incredibly good looking colt to boot.

I also think Saxon Warrior is a good looking colt but he does need to improve on what he has done so far. The Pentagon beat Verbal Dexterity's pacemaker in the Tyros Stakes so he needs to step up too.

Thought Roaring Lion gave that away, think he would have won if he didn't run around. A very disappointing run from the Bolger horse, was never travelling at any stage.

Possibly but if you look Saxon did not really keep straight either it was actually Saxon veering left that let roaring lion into the race
he almost stopped. Saxon is still very raw my worry was that it may be too soon for him but he still won. And i think he won with a bit in hand
Ryan never really threw the kitchen sink at him.

Jim Bolgers horse was never traveling at all he was been pushed along from the get go I think his jockey wanted him to make all.
But dont think you can make any excuses for him there beat by better horses on the day.

Its a shame Gustav Klimt missed the back end G1s think he is the lead Guineas prospect.

Alot of people see Saxon Warrior as a Derby type I see him more of a Guineas type he has plenty of speed.
