Post The Curious Case Of Daggers Drawn
He cost a kings ransom, He was the best workhorse Henry Cecil had ever known, Onlookers on the gallops ranted and raved about him and refused to believe he was anything other than a superstar but alas Daggers Drawn turned out to be the biggest letdown in the legendary trainers career

Racing is littered with cases such as this,

so folks can you think of other horses who did a Daggers Drawn???

What about Snaafi Dancer bought by Sheik Mo as a yearling for $13m and was so bad/backward it never even saw the racecourse. Others that spring to mind are Tromos and Dunbeath, both champion 2 year olds who crashed and burned on first starts at 3 and were never seen again.
I have a very vague memory of Peter Walwyn training one (can't think of the name) who won by a country mile on debut around 1976/77 resulting in Pat Eddery claiming it was the best horse he'd ever sat on only for it to sink without trace on its 2nd start.

Leonardo Da Vinci - never raced at 2 but won the Wood Ditton first time out and then the White Rose by 10 lengths. Then finished 7 and a half lengths at long odds on behind Shirley Heights in the Dante. Then flopped again in September Stakes and got packed off to US. Was by Brigadier Gerard out of the Oaks winner Lupe, so you can see why he thought it might be something special. Another Brigadier Gerard flop was Ettiene Gerard in 76
