If they target 16f they may aim at the Sydney Cup, April 7 or the Adelaide Cup, March 12 - maybe both but I doubt it. There is also the Andrew Ramsden Stakes over 2 miles in May as well - it is a Listed Race. Then onto the Melb Cup. Not many decent 2 mile races in Australia. He may have a crack at the Listed Bagot Hcp on New Years Day over 14f but my guess will be they will avoid that as the Flemington track would be very dry/hard.

Re: Melbourne Cup field for next Tuesday.
Rekindling holds no entries in Europe he is not entered in the Ascot Gold Cup it's to be confirmed but looks highly likely he is remaining in Australia awaiting conformation though.
Have to say thats incredibly harsh on Joey

Re: Melbourne Cup field for next Tuesday.
Well he didn't front up in the Sydney Cup - although he would have carried the grandstand, so the only other Australian option is the Melb Cup again or stud. There is no other race worth while for him to race in and I can't see him running in the Cox Plate over 10f. I am really surprised he didn't fly back for the Ascot Gold Cup. At times, owners are very strange and tighter than gold fish!
