I’ve got individual shares in 3 horses with The Owners Group and I’m also a member of Elite racing club. I probably spend around £450 per year all in and It’s great fun for those of us who haven’t got he bottomless pockets of the big guns. Plenty of owners badges at the races and stable visits to top trainers Nicky Henderson, Paul Nichols, Sir Mark Prescott, Roger Charlton ect throughout the year.

Starting a syndicate from scratch can be a very expensive exercise, the average cost of training a horse per season is around £20,000. Plus you’ve also got to buy a horse to begin with, with no guarantee you will make any money back at all if they pick up injuries or are not up to standard.
