6yo Multiple Group race winner and has been G1 placed too

Best distance is 10 furlongs

Last 2 runs well and truly put in his place finishing last to Cracksman in the Champion Stakes
& last to Decorated Knight in the Irish Champion Stakes

on his day a decent horse but certainly not a top notcher he is a solid group horse who is
exposed in group one company Winx should spit him out

Sounds like they either think it will pick up an 'easy' G1 here in Oz or are looking for some decent place money.
Seems a long way to travel for a 6yo who hasn't set the world alight.

What would the track conditions likely to be Doug as the vast majority of his best form is on soft ground and he is not risked on really quick ground.

This time of year in NSW the going can be an each way bet. He could easily come up on a very good track or come up on a dead to slow track.

Temp in Sydney today is 28c to give you an idea of weather this time of year. Not sure if an English 'soft' is the same as an Aussie one but it wont help him against Winx.

This is 12 months ago on a wet track in Sydney. It's jockey cam so you get a good look at the going of the track. Wait til the home straight and watch Winx go past this horse and pay attention to the hold that Bowman has on Winx. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dr0P-ilu5jU

Wish they'd have just said. There was never a chance of her coming over. She'll probably end up beating Hartnell for thr 10th time. A proper group 3 horse..

Can’t say I blame them, just wish they didn’t string everyone along over the past year that she may come over.

Mop up the Grouo 1’s back home without breaking sweat and earning decent money for the owners.

Ill say it again, until she races against some decent horses, ill just ignore every run.. Black Caviar gained so much respect in coming and winning over in europe

The UK trainers could gain so much respect if they come over here to Oz and bring their best to take on Winx.
She is the champ, come challenge anytime you like. Wet track, fast track...any track....Good luck.

Winx has beaten more than 50 horses that have won G1 races....bring some over so she can add to the tally.
If you want to prove yourself...seek out the best and beat them...and at the moment...Winx is the best, so come and challenge if your game.

One of the major issues is that the biggest race and most obvious target for any European raider, the Cox Plate, is too close in the calendar to the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe. The very best middle distance European horses are always going to target the Arc as it is the most prestigious flat race in the world, the French definitely have the bragging rights currently.

Just checked out last years Arc for reference to compare to Moonee Valley.
Two opposite tracks - one right handed and the other left handed.
The Arc track is roomy and very undulating and The Valley is tight and flat.
In the Cox Plate you need a horse than can run on or right behind the pace and probably sustain a 2+ furlong sprint to the post.
The Arc has a nice long straight and plenty of time for a horse to balance up.

On a side note - in the next year or two, Moonee Valley will be redesigned (track) with housing apartments around the back part of the track and they will move into evening and twilight racing. The Cox Plate will then be run at night.
It will be the Happy Valley Race Track of Australia. The night racing in Hong Kong at Happy Valley is an amazing experience.

Here's a clip of one of the greatest Cox Plate moments.
