It's so frustrating that people keep referring to that when it comes to Midterm; it is so not relevant, and it never was.

He had a wind op at the end of last year so his new connections will need to sort his breathing out first. Hopefully, he can win another Group 3 while he's down there.

just stating a fact after the classic trial he was the fav for the Derby dont be so defensive mate
the comment was not having a pop at anyone

I actually think he is a fine addition for Lloyd and can see him winning G1s in time

looking forward to his debut tomorrow

If he wins a Group 1 it will go to show how poor Australian racing is. Midterm, or Rory, is a lovely horse. I've met him at home a few times, but he isn't up to Group 1 level.

Midterm & Homesman non runners (Scratched) in the Le Pine Funerals Easter Cup Race 7 at Caulfield

Ballyroan Stakes G3 winner Steps (Spanish Steps) still runs and is set to make his Australian debut
I really liked this horse as a 3YO his form dipped later in 3YO campaign. hopefully he does him self
justice on debut

I seriously considered having a go at Steps - but after carefully summing up his form I decided to have a look instead as i was thinking he may need a few starts to show his best.

I was surprised how well he was backed I think he was around 4 or 5 to 1 here
I know they need a run or two to be revved up

I just watched the replay.

Looks like Steps was on the bit - not pulling hard but appeared a little keen - was running 3rd and a perfect run but at the 3f he eased up and outside the two leaders to make a line of three and the pace was at the 2.5f and as they straightened up at the 1.5f Steps was finished for the day and the jockey eased him down to the post.

Winner paid 60/1 - so safe to say it's a race to not take too seriously.

Here is the real Spanish Steps. A great horse and a regular visitor to my local track Warwick where he had a bar named after him.
