Great jockeys know how to switch tactics when races are not being run how they would like. So when it is being ran at that pace and he knows stamina wont be brought into play, he needs to go to the front or much nearer the front a lot earlier. Remember the coronation cup?? He ran the legs off the competition, yet tonight Joesph is sitting biting his nails behind a wall of four horses wondering what to do. I know this is a game of opinions, mine is that the best horse came 2nd.

Well the Dubai World Cup winner was 5th in a Wolverhampton maiden on his first even run says it all really poor

No reason st nic should be any better than cirrus des aigles seeing as that horse has now won the champion stakes and the sheema classic, he might just have run into a very good horse

Well he could have improved- he has been off for a year and was 3rd in the same race last year, also SYT did have some good horses behind him

Yeah won't hear Monterosso being slated, very good horse. Would've won last year had it not been a farcical pace. O'Brien rode SYT as best he could.

But he was awful on SNA, fair enough riding to instruction but as someone said above, you need to adapt.
