He hasn't lost anything in value if you ask me, I would love to send a few of my mares to him (providing I had any). |

He was already a stallion sure thing when they bought him. Impeccably bred, precocious at 2 which is a big thing these days and built like a monster. |

It will certainly be interesting to see where coolmore send him to stand his first few seasons. |

If it stands, it will do well in Australia just on the plate wins. So I take it, it didn't run a great race? not seen it yet |

Wow just heard A O'B get a serve regarding SYT on Australian radio, they pointed out that it looks like SYT has had the sprint trained out of him and now looks a one pace stayer. Referenced Manighar as a stayer who has now has been trained to have a decent sprint and it shows in his results. Question is, is he right? 1-13 RHIL 24-Mar-12 2000M Dead5 (RANVET G1) 3YO & Up WFA $405,000 ($245,000) Luke Nolen (4) 59.0 Rtg:112 2nd RANGIRANGDOO (NZ) 59.0: 3rd SHOOT OUT 59.0: 2-4.73, Margin 0.2L 9th at 1200m, 7th at 800m, 6th at 400m, Betting $5/$6.50/$6.50. 1-8 FLEM 10-Mar-12 2000M Good3 (AUST CUP G1) No age restriction WFA $1,005,000 ($605,000) Luke Nolen (5) 59.0 Rtg:110 2nd SOUTHERN SPEED 57.0: 3rd AMERICAIN (USA) 59.0: 2-1.22, Margin 0.1L 3rd at 1200m, 4th at 800m, 2nd at 400m, Betting $5/$7/$7. 3-12 CAUL 25-Feb-12 1800M Good3 (PETER YOUNG G2) No age restriction WFA $202,000 ($18,000) Luke Nolen (7) 59.0 Rtg:110 1st LUCAS CRANACH (GER) 59.0: 2nd ILLO (GER) 59.0: 1-48.82, Margin 1.6L 10th at 1200m, 10th at 800m, 6th at 400m, Betting $4.2/$6. 1-12 CAUL 11-Feb-12 1600M Dead4 (CLYON CUP G3) 4YO & Up SWP $125,750 ($75,750) Luke Nolen (7) 56.0 Rtg:110 2nd SHADOWFAX (NZ) 57.0: 3rd VEEWAP 56.5: 1-37.17, Margin 1.8L 5th at 800m, 4th at 400m, Betting $8/$7/$8. 1100m Manighar, which was over-racing shifted out momentarily when being restrained off heels |

Can't comment on whatever AO'B has done with SYT, however Manighar is only winning these races because Australian breeders and owners are only interested in turning out sprinter/milers that can perform at 2yo. |

I think you could make a killing if you had some decent money and bought placed Derby and Oaks horses from England and then prepped them for the Caulfield/Melbourne Cups. Which is what some people over here have been doing but it just hasn't quite paid off for them yet. |

This is an angle I am looking at doing with a friend of mine over the next few years. The prize money over there is so good, and if you can get your hands on a decent middle distance prospect over here, you're very likely to farm the longer distances races out in Oz. The shorter distance races are a different kettle of fish however. |
