Re: Camelot 2000 guineas chances
Ground shouldn't be too hard anyway, hasn't stopped raining for the past week.

Re: Camelot 2000 guineas chances
Think Trumpet Major is the value in the 2000. I've had a few quid on Red Duke on Betfair at some ridiculous price as I think he'll run a big race and didn't quite see the trip out in Meydan and should come on for that run I hope. Never know what to expect with these big Ballydole hopes. SNA hasn't been the horse I think AOB thought he would be, despite being a classy group 1 winner, I think they thought he was a bit more special if that makes sense. Nevertheless, a weak looking Guineas as usual so if Camelot has the pace for the race and isn't a Derby horse through and through, he should take all the beating. 1st Camelot 2nd Trumpet Major 3rd Red Duke

Joseph O'Brien has just been on At The Races, he said: "There has to be a question mark over the ground. It's an unknown and there's a lot of top of the ground in his pedigree. He'll be a better horse on faster ground
i think it will suit him more than most

Re: Camelot 2000 guineas chances
What, soft ground? I think it will suit seeing as st nic performed badly when it was too fast and montjeus classically prefer it on the soft side.

Sorry wasn't sure if your were agreeing with J o'brien or not. Sorry but I think he is talking a load of rubbish there as you said think it will suit him more than most. They are just trying to make excuses maybe says something about how confident they really are about him?

They think the horse is a freak. I can still see Tabor lumping on but not as confident as I was a week or two ago.

keithbeaky wrote: Its the times and "data" he produces on the gallops is what they are so excited about. It was the same last year before the Racing Post. I knew Nephite wouldn't be going to HQ when I had the bet, so that doesn't change anything. Of the others at home, Maybe is the only one to show real class at a mile but they weren't so bothered about backing her now. They would say that Power would never beat Camelot, but obviously second strings have been known to be the better horse on the racecourse many times.
The question I asked was, what is his trip? The answer I got was they really, really think he is a top class 1m4 horse but has so much speed and class the 2000 should not be a problem. Given the problems surrounding Most Improved and Top Offer not having a prep run, which I think was very important, Im not sure the opposition is up to much? If he lines up I think Tabor and Co. will just keep having it on and then I'll probably trade some of mine out. I do have to chuckle about these sort of comments You make it sound that they "time trial" these horses to the millisecond every week. The truth is far from that. Certainly the times and "data" he produced in winning his 2 races so far were nothing to get excited about whatsover. This horse may well win the 2000 Guineas but the current price is an absolute joke. Incidentally when was the last time a Racing Post Trophy winner came close to winning the 2000 Guineas?

Incidentally how many Guineas winners have your trained? About the same amount as you I would imagine? Still think he is terrible value in a very competitive Guineas. I think 1994 was the last time a Racing Post Trophy winner came close to winning a Guineas and he really was a monster!!

If you watch racing you might notice Aiden quoting times and "data", hence my referral to them earlier. It was a bit of a joke, which obviously went over your head. I do like your definite opinion (pointing out the obvious), and on other threads classic after-timing. It is invaluable for us all here. We can all learn so much from you.
