I have one question for racing experts.

What's the advantage for apprentice jockeys in having more lbs than the other ones?

A less experienced apprentice will be able to claim more weight off the horse they are on. So the fewer wins an apprentice has had, the higher in lbs his claim will be.

It means remove the weight the horse will carry. If the horse is to carry 57kg and the jockey can claim 3kg then the horse will carry 54kg
