Personally I think this, not BC vs Frankel would be the match of the century. 1m2 straight at newmarket(if it was a match race), level weights, perfect.

Think the York race is set up perfect for them to meet. Personally i think Frankel would win but surely it would be no lose for Camelot especially if he could put up good show and get within a couple of lengths. There again he could win and if he does it opens up things like being the best of all time esp if can win the leger and arc as well. Nijinsky did King George after Irish derby but they have St Nic for that so should go for Juddmonte before Leger.

Difference is as Paul said there is the weight allowance which there wasn't for Dubai Millenium vs montjeu, means it won't be a test of who is ultimately the better horse.

After the Irish Derby, is he likely to have another race before the St Leger?

But what a direct match could lead to is Camelot winning by a short head which would then make the whole race look a farce as he would have won but frankel would clearly still be the better horse as he had only just lost giving lumps of weight away. For it to be a true match race horses have to be the same age or agree to scrap the weight allowance. This happened with Galileo vs fantastic light. Fantastic light was the better horse but was beaten in the king George because the three year old weight allowance is at its largest relatively the. So he was at a disadvantage and it showed when he won the Irish chorion Jen the weights were a lot closer together. Samehappened in last years king George, nathaniel was not better than either workforce or st nic but he still won because he had a huge advantage on the weights. If Camelot were to beat frankel he would appear to be the better horse at face value but actually frankel would till be better and I think this would be unfair on frankel.

weight for age has always been the same sts got weight for age in the arc so why should camelot not get weight for age

a horses prime is his/her 4th and 5th year so there should be weight for age allowance to balance it out

Yes but who at the time is the better horse if Camelot wins by a short head receiving 10lb or whatever. Just forget the fact that horses are better as four year olds, as some horses e.g workforce don't improve form 3 to 4. So forget their ages and look at it purely as a handicapper. Camelot wins by a short head, receiving 10lb, who is better? At the time of the arc weight for age is a lot less, but the weight for age means it is a lot easier for 3yos to clean up than it is for 4 year olds, such as sea the stars did.

Still would have been murdered by Dubai Millenium over 1m2.
