Re: A few to watch out for
FORT KNOX has a crack at classic glory today in the 2000 guineas at the curragh. Trained now by Johnny Murtagh who has taken over the job from Tommy Carmody, and Sheikh Mohammed has snapped up this son of Dubawi since he was last on the track in the 2000 guineas trial @ Leopardstown six weeks ago. I think it's fair to say that he would prefer a little bit of cut, but it never really gets too firm at the curragh so i dont think he'll mind the ground too much, also don't think there is too much else, if anything at all in the field that posesses a turn of foot like Fort Knox, most of the rest will be looking to burn up as much of that speed before he gets a chance to use it but another big plus for him is how well he travels, i'd imagine restraining tactics will be emoloyed again but nowhere near as exaggereted as the last day, murtagh will though be aiming to swoop again in similar style. EW-PLAY 9/1.

Re: A few to watch out for
Fort Knox 71-19Very disappointing run from Fort Knox on saturday, i know it was a big step up in grade from his last run and the ground was far from ideal but still i really expected him to put up more of a show than this. You can't really make any excuses for him either, this was a group 1 race and you have to expect things to happen really fast, he got a lovely trip round the inside and murtagh was able to go the pace he wanted, a split opened up for him at the right time but today he just didn't pick up when asked. Im sure he'll be winning races in future but ground has to be key in placement for this horse from now on in my opinion. http://www.attheraces.com/VideoConsole/ ... 25_04_1520

Re: A few to watch out for
AL BAZ in the 4.30 @ Leicester today makes some ew appeal, he is well bred being a half brother to irish 1000 guineas winner Samitar. There are some well bred newcomers in the field.. Ertijaal, Toofi, Veya and Dalaki to be more specific, and it could be argued one or two of those are potentially speedier but you cant underestimate the value of already having a good run on the track and the form of his debut 4th is looking solid enough with the 3rd and the 5th winning next time out. He holds a nice entry later in the season, the extra furlong will help no doubt and i think he is over priced against the more fashionable stables. 15/2 ew

Re: A few to watch out for
MANDERLEY 7.25 @ Kempton gets the 2yo list started today and im hopeful she can be the first from the list to be a first time out winner. It took a couple of runs before her brother Gregorian got off the mark, he was trained by John Gosden who is notoriously patient with his juveniles but the Hannon team couldn't be more different and i expect her to be more forward. Its a decent enough little maiden with Bewitchment being the stand out one breeding wise being a half sister to Hooray but Prescott newcomers improve greatly 19/20 from their first run. Roger Varian won this last year and Princess Noor will most likeky be thereabouts, and Ibecke holds some decent entries later in the year but Manderley does also and she is taken to make a winning debut PLAY 5/2

Re: A few to watch out for
Manderley 4Another disappointing day as the thread continues its nosedive. Manderley virtually walked out of the gate and when asked to play catch up became too keen too soon. She ran a bit green in my opinion and any juice for a finish when things opened up for her in the straight had been used up at the start. Still i can see why the money came for her as she is a nice looker with a really nice stride. She'll probably hack up next time but alas the bookies will be on to her now so she most likely wont be any sort of price. I thought Bewitchment ran a nice race and could be one to follow. http://www.sportinglife.com/racing/resu ... akes/video

PHAENOMENA 4.20 @ Lingfield. I've been looking forward to this one for a while and i'll keep it simple.. i expect Phaenomena will win this easy today and then head to ascot for the Ribblesdale! PLAY 7/4
MONTIRIDGE will take some stopping in the 8.20 @ sandown tonight. 9/4
The double pays 7.94/1

Re: A few to watch out for
shocker something a miss there but looks like 700k down the drain at the moment the horse was nowhere near ready for the track
i backed her this morning before i saw your post i like you thought she could be decent
but that has to be the most awful debut ever
she lives to fight another day
