Kingsbarns didn't run to well, perhaps he will never become the horse he looked like he was going to be.

Dont think i have seen worse conditions for racing on the flat here in Ireland shocking Never should have run he was only 70-80% fit never picked up at all i would not read too much into that race mate. Decleration of war ran in the same race last year went on to win a queen anne & a Juddmonte

Re: Horse to Follow 2013/14 - 2014/15
All of their horses look in need of a run, even over the weekend. I truly believe they shouldn't be running them if they are not fit enough to do themselves justice, however it is best to get a run into them. Regarding Johann Strauss, what are they doing with him? they should have just popped him out and ride him handy and win his maiden, simple as that. I know Joseph is never going to give the horses a hard time of it on this dreadful ground when in need of some race fitness but come on, he should not still be a maiden by now.

Poor Johann if one horses needed good to firm it was him Joey took him up inside and door was closed was a poor decision manning was never going to do him any favors

Re: Horse to Follow 2013/14 - 2014/15
A lot of horses running in or even winning maidens will not be fit and nor should they be. You want horses to improve with racing, even if they have run several times last season. Whats the point in having them fit first time out in April?

Re: Horse to Follow 2013/14 - 2014/15
Nobody expects them to be fully fit this time of year. As you say you have got to look at the bigger picture. But rather than sending them to a race where they are not fit enough to do themselves justice then they should just work them at home. Especially when the ground is as soft as it is at leopardstown, trainers knowing some of their horse hate it, just don't run them.

They looking to run him in Lockinge and the ground here wont change much in next few weeks and they needed to get a run into him

Fair enough. I still think even a 80% Kingbarns should really be beating that lot if he is to go on to much better things this season. of that subject, Any news on Indian Maharaja from Sunday Pj? I'm strongly suspecting it was the ground that was to blame.

Re: Horse to Follow 2013/14 - 2014/15
With a horse like Kingsbarn you have to run him on the racecourse to bring him on and then train him for his next race. If it doesn't work out then so be it.
