I Have Aus at 20s and GC at 33s i would prefer Aus to win but if he doesn't will be hoping GC does
a 1,2 would be sweet perfection and a very very nice pay day the ground has me a bit worried now
getting more nervous the closer we get to Saturday

Moore was always going to Ride GC i got word a while back i think thats why he was so well supported in the market
plus he is working very well at home but no one at Ballydoyle believes he can beat Aus

I went in again today got 8/11 place and 2/1 win on Aus after the drift my biggest outlay since yeats 3rd gold cup and
Black caviar at RA

Support for Kingston Hill is ground related would be a big place lay for me

Finally played my hand with Arod and True Story with such little value in the race on Australia I've come tot he conclusion that we could of seen one of the best Dante's in years
and taking them two at 16/1 and 14/1 is the best value bet in the race.

It won't matter anyway when Marvellous romps in tomorrow and the 11/2 after the Irish 1000G was a give away

GC was well supported after the trial and because of his homework. People keep telling me that the yard say he cant beat Australia. I dont subscribe to that at all. Why bother running him if thats true. How many classics has the Coolmore second or third string won now??

I think both the Guineas and Dante were good trials, though I might favour the Guineas. I also think the Irish trials have been above average. I still think its the best Derby since Workforce's. How anyone can call it an awful race I have no idea.

Its the Derby all bases have to be covered and anything as we know in racing can happen
all i hope for is fair ground then we will see the best horse on the day win

as for 2nd or 3rd string winning classics in the Derby
Galileo No1 won
High Chaparral No2 Won
Camelot No1 Won
Ruler No2 Won

so your point is fair Matt

To say not one person in the yard or the whole team thinks GC can beat Australia is ridiculous. Im sorry but it is. It may well be that Australia finishes ten lengths ahead or more but no one can say it cant finish ahead of it.

As for second strings overall it is quite a lot. I think maybe even a third string has won a classic.

I have concerns about Marvelous her dam won the G2 Cherry hinton at 6 furlongs and furthest distance run at
was 10 furlongs and she did not stay the one time she raced at 1m2 Hopefully she will win for you

Ah beaky.. it seems as if you are fishing, but you are not a Kingfisher... speaking of which i think he is remarkable value at 66/1 tomorrow considering his last run, pedigree and the fact that O'brien outsiders have a good record of getting placed particularly ones who travel up with the pace, i think this lad will be ridden very handy.

Of the fancied runners personally i think the derrinstown form is the strongest guineas aside so i'll be havin a few quid on the Australia/Fascinating Rock R/F S/F, and an each way on Fascinating Rock.

I have Australia in a nice treble with Kingman (irish 2000) and Real Madrid (CL).

Australia
Western Hymn
Geoffrey Chaucer

Although I appreciate the two jockeys on the 1-2 are poor so I wouldn't be surprised to see Moore nick it on an inferior horse.

Australia still way too short for me, you'd have thought he'd won the Guiness by 10 lengths the way his price went afterwards. I really like Geoffrey Chaucer, a very similar price to ROTW last year and also the 2nd string with Moore onboard. I may have a little ew bet on Arod too as he has a touch of class about him with the Dante form very strong.

Yeah great treble, must pay all of 7/1!!! I've had a double that the Oaks is on a Friday and the Derby on a Saturday. Was going to have a treble and include royal Ascot starts on a Tuesday but thought it was a bit risky.

If Moore was on Australia i'd be very confident, don't trust O'Brien if it is a 'close call' but obviously if Aus is a class apart he will win even with Joseph on board.

Dont' understand people criticising the quality of the race, I think it looks quite a strong Derby and you can never really tell until you see how they perform later in the season.

Homecoming Queen is another to add to the 2nd or 3rd string list - awful guineas winnner
