Wardie - I usually back up my saves about once a week after losing hours upon hours of gameplay a few months back. I'm not sure what others do, but here's what I do:

Go to C: > ProgramData (it's the hidden folder, you'll have to follow these instructions to make them visible if you're using vista, otherwise just google how to see hidden files) > starters orders 4 > saves and then (say you want to back up game no. 4) copy 4.sav and ext4.sav and ln4.idx and o4.idx and then paste them into whatever folder you want to use to keep them. I have one in My Documents called So4 Backups, but you can really put them wherever you want as long as you remember where they are. If you want to go back to this backup (say if the game crashed) just copy each of these ones you just backed up and paste them into the same folder you copied them out of originally.

I don't know that you usually have to copy every single one of these files, in fact I'm fairly certain you don't, but out of paranoia I do, lol.

Hope you can get something out these instructions, it's a bit convoluted and I'm not at my most coherent

pjr what schedule are you using and where did you get the horse pictures from, mine are completely different to yours.
I am saddened to hear about what as happened to your game and also delighted that you have a superstar on your hands, by the way how are the other 2 year olds doing that you purchased?

thanks sabella, I understood it fine.
Helps if there is poss a sticky somewhere on this topic for other people to know about how to save a game file so you can put it back into the game should you lose it.

ppl asking how to get money,

get any two average horses of the same trip, take the reigns first time out and miss the kick completely and hold up the full way.

Enter both in a hadicap bet some on the favourites to push the price out and then reverse forecast at huge odds....
