Re: Breeding diary
I havent played a whole lot, maybe only 25 seasons or so focusing mainly on breeding and racing the decent ones, but i agree with your thoughts Wannabe.
This SO7 breeding may infact be more realistic than SO6 but it somewhat detracts from what a lot of us enjoyed about the previous addition. I for one would enjoy less randomness in the breeding % (whilst still keeping some intact) and a little more stategy.

Re: Breeding diary
Because i do not have S07 i have a question.... Has anyone had any attributes actually increase beyond the parents attributes? Or is it like the Battling Qualities that only stay the same or reduce when breeding in S06? Just curious

Re: Breeding diary
Leon has said he has bred horses who are better than the parents, but of the hundreds I have bred there all worse, usually by a significant margin, not even had one who is as good.

Re: Breeding diary
I'm improved them once at the start and then kind of got bogged down, I'll have ago in the new year again. The one thing that disappointed me was I sold some nice horses that went on to win 4 group 1's but the computer only kept them in the breeding barn one year then got shot of them, if that kept happening then I would be sad or mad with the game.

Re: Breeding diary
I have done the same when weeding out too many full potential colts, got via restarts, at the start of my last game, it kept one in four of the good ones beyond a year, all had group success. Anyhow I have completely put it down now, doing some flat breeding on SO6 for what maybe the last ever SO league

Re: Breeding diary
Yay! Breeding apparently is harder for SO7. I'm all for the added realism. I hope it's also harder to win graded races and that the mares are actually competent in this version. Honestly, the game mares are embarrassing in previous versions.

I'll always play the game but this could be the last ever league season. I done a little bit of breeding for it and i've just got to run my trials, bring on the new season

Re: Breeding diary
Have you found that you have started to get better horses since the recent patches and restarted a new game or is it just lots of seasons is starting to pay off

Adammilesbgreen wrote: Have you found that you have started to get better horses since the recent patches and restarted a new game or is it just lots of seasons is starting to pay off There is definately a slight improvement. I have bred 7 seasons with the latest patch and have found that the absolute potential (light green bar) is definately more consistant. Maybe about 10% of the time the horses are breeding true and about 15 % of the time it is only a few percentent less. The realised potential (dark green bar) is still only catching up with the absolute potential about 2% of the time.
